Late rapper TUPAC SHAKUR has scored his first ever UK number one single on Sunday (26JUN05) with his 13th posthumous hit.

The hip-hop star's song GHETTO GOSPEL, which features vocals by ELTON JOHN and is remixed by EMINEM, knocked the annoying ringtone track AXEL F by CRAZY FROG off the top slot.

Shakur's first British hit I AIN'T MAD AT CHA charted at 13 just two months (NOV96) after his fatal shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada, in September 1996.

Other new entries in the top five include R+B newcomer BOBBY VALENTINO's sexy song SLOW DOWN and MVP's hip-hop anthem ROCK YA BODY at five.

Meanwhile, COLDPLAY's third disc X+Y remains at the top of the album charts for a third week, despite competition from new releases by JAMIROQUAI with his album DYNAMITE.
