TV picture rotation problem

Got an Advent 30" Widescreen CRT HDTV (HT3061A)

Only problem being the screen rotation. Says it's due to the earth's magnetic field. It has built in rotation controls, but the picture is still a bit distorted.

Any kinda shielding or placement that will fix this?

Turn it off in the position you want it and leave it like that for a good while before turning it back on. Not sure if it will work but heard it somewhere.

Well of course you must check if you have any speakers or a subwoofer nearby. If not, leave it on the same position and shut it off and don't turn it on until like 5 mins or so. Keep doing it to see if it fixes it. If it ain't working then I suggest to replace it or go with another brand (I don't know much about the Advent brand though).

I got the same problem while I had my 40" CRT WEGA from Sony but instead I was getting a bunch of different color spots in the corners. I was able to somewhat make it decent with a bunch of magnets, but it didn't fix it in the long run. Thanks to the great Sears warranty, I was able to exchange it with a 60v500 LCD projection from Hitachi. Won't have to deal with that problem ever again.
