if hariyama can be overlevelled to the point where it is outspeeding most opponent pokemon it's our best offensive threat.

edit: sorry bout the double post

got banned from TPP for some stupid reason. Probably flagged as a bot or something. for a post where I pointed out that Mightydoge keeps changing to Linoone in the pics

Oh good, I'm not going crazy

But yeah, bans on this channel are fucked, but I've said that enough throughout these past two playthroughs :V

What does "randomized" firered mean? does this mean the pokemon team is chosen for us already?

it means that the level curve of the game stays the same but you'll find wildly different Pokemon literally everywhere. Trainers, gym leaders, Elite 4, grass Pokemon, surf Pokemon, cave Pokemon, etc. You could fish off the coast of Fuchsia and land yourself a goddamn Metang. Starters are a random selection of Mon's with 2 evos.

Niraj

I shot people I like more for less.
All it took was one dude picking down so reversal was picked and it snowballed into this lol

This is just pissing me off so much. They had a million chances to get VP experience there and still managed to swap back in just to get killed.

This chat really hates Vileplume. Doge gets a lot of kills (Just managed to rip through Shiftry and Cacturne), Cabbage just gets mauled.

Still better than every other Oddish we had. :p

EDIT: Also, Tentacruel just destroyed Phoebe. Despite tons of luck against us, it turned out pretty well.

Noooo M4's paralyzed! That screws with Rollout so much.

God, we should have deleted Rock Smaash, if not for Rest but just because it sucks so much in Gen III. Even Strength takes off half of Kingdra's health per shot with M4's pathetic attack stat.

M4 :_:

correct about everything
i haven't been paying attention. how can they not have beaten the elite four with a level 100, level 71 and level 65, with other three being around 50? that should happen by accident by my reckoning.

Much tougher Elite 4; all of them have some sort of strategy and they have nasty attack coverage like Thunderbolt on Banette.

  • Sidney: Uses Double Team, Sand Attack, and Swagger to lucksack us, with Torment to disrupt our "Press A to win" strategy. His Shifty is pure hell. Has three Pokemon resistant to Water attacks, which both Tentacruel and Azumarill use.
  • Phoebe: More Double Team! Add Curse and Grudge to cripple our party and Ghost Pokemon immune to Hairyama's Fighting type attacks.
  • Glacia: She uses Hail. Hail deals the same chip damage regardless of level. Has three Pokemon resistant to Water.
  • Drake: This is just shit playing by the chat; he's not that awful other than having a lot of power and randomly paralyzing us with Dragonbreath. Has four Pokemon resistant to Water.
  • Wallace: Pure hell. Five Pokemon resistant to Water, uses Toxic on his first Tentacruel, Double Team and Leech Seed on the same Pokemon, and Jesus don't get me started on that Milotic with Recover and Toxic.

Bots happen. And the level 100 is not exactly the strongest Pokémon around.

From Smogon, look at Azumarill's base stats:
HP 100
Atk 50
Def 80
SpA 50
SpD 80
Spe 50

Compared to Tentacruel, for example:
HP 80
Atk 70
Def 65
SpA 80
SpD 120
Spe 100

At least Tentacruel has an usable Special Attack, good Special Defense, and good Speed. Azumarill is just weak all around.

Also, Graveler pretty much gets one-shot by any water, ice, or grass attack.
Vileplume can't stay alive long enough to help against Wallace.
Mightyena isn't all that useful against anyone but Phoebe.

The infuriating thing is we have all of the tools to win. Hariyama vs Dark and Ice type. Doge vs ghost. Rock attacks against the dragons, most of which are part flying type. And Vileplum against Water. However trying to actually use our pokemon strategically is damn near impossible. At least we got Hariyama on the lead against Sidney with her best fighting type attack in the number one spot, but she's useless against the ghosts in the very next fight and has to be switched out for someone else.

I think we need to adjust our team positions to:

Annie-To Sweep Sidney, then be ready to deal with most/all of Glacia's team
Doge-So we can easily switch to him on Pheobe
Vileplume/Graveler-The order of these two doesnt really matter. Vileplume might be useful if it survived to Wallace, but it won't, so it's best for it just to sit in the middle of the party. Once doge dies both these guys are likely to be switch in against Pheobe, and it's better that they die here and get some damage off than let the important members get damaged.
M4-By the time we get to Drake, we have to expect the previous 4 to all be dead. So if it's a choice between M4 and Tentacruel to go against Drake, M4 is probably the better choice as she's the most efficient at taking him out. So long as she doesn't get paralyzed, she can probably handle him losing less than 50% hp.
Tentacruel-It's become clear that M4 soloing Wallace won't happen, so the next most important member is Tentacruel. If she can survive to Wallace with most of her HP she can take out most of his team with HP electric/surf, plus she's effective against Ludicolo, our biggest threat. The only issue is Whiscash, though I'm certain 1 Surf should kill it and we should outspeed. That is of course if M4 hasn't dealt with it already. She's also a very good "general" pokemon, as she can be sent out at any time throughout the run and not have her purpose compromise. The pokemon in the 6th slot is typically the 2nd most likely to be sent out, after the pokemon in slot 2.

Now if only we could convince the chat to change the order to this.

Also for people asking about mods/bans, there are no human mods, just a modbot. It automatically bans for all-caps messages over 1 line long, and not much else.

I still hold out hope for VP. She just needs a couple more levels so that she's fast enough to get petal dance off consistently.

I also noticed the battle mode is set to Set. Always a crucial component to successfully taking on the Elite 4.

Hariyama doing work.
