They didn't? Curse for ghost types and curse for non-ghosts has always worked differently. For ghosts it cuts hp in half (from max) and takes off a quarter of your opponents health every turn until they switch. For non-ghosts it lowers speed 1 stage and raises attack and defense 1 stage each.

And with Espeon learning Psychic at lvl 47 (hopefully, and not in place of Bite) too we are set to become a wrecking crew. If the streamer did hack our old Red team into Mt. Silver's Red battle as some hope, we will destroy them by the time we get that far. Unless they are level adjusted (the original Red had levels 73-81). In fact I'd love to see the old Red stream team level adjusted for that fight, with Lapras, ATV etc. brought to their full potential.
