There's definitely some fishy shenanigans occurring with the Android Twitter app right now.

On both my Android phone and Android tablet, when I try to open the Twitter app, it acts as though I'm a new user, and begs me to sign up for a new account using my Gmail address. The funny thing is that I was not using my Gmail address for my existing Twitter account.

What's up with that? Why would it try to force me to log on using Gmail, when I've never even attempted to associate the Gmail account with Twitter in the past?

I tried looking at my profile (not logged in) on Chrome mobile, but apparently it doesn't exist. I then open up my profile (again, not logged in) on the Android Twitter app and it's there, tweets and everything. Hm.
