Moving on to human augmentation, he suggested augmentation technology could eventually produce
a ‘superhuman workforce’, that use technologies like ‘augmented reality, virtual reality and nerve stimulation’.

‘You could put [an] individual into a state of flow, where learning is optimized and retention is maximized,’ he said.
‘This individual could be shaped into somebody with very high-performing potential.’

for decades people dreamed of living in a cyberpunk world (not the game) but if you had any brains you would do everything to fight against that happening. sadly, it looks like it's happening. i really thought cyberpunk as a genre was just fiction but i can see the pieces falling into place and it's been happening for AT LEAST the last 20 years! the world is going to drastically change and a world war will either speed that up or be a result of it. technology and way of life is about to boom in a big way. today we are still only living in a post-WW2 world. imagine what the world will look like after WW3. you think coronavirus is bad? it's only a sign of things to come. this is the warm up.

or maybe we'll just kill ourselves off with climate change or nuclear war. either way there is a bang or whimper coming real fucking soon and people better get ready for it.

i think 9/11 was the turning point. i ain't even american but that shit changed the world and put fear into people. it took away privacy. the rise of smartphones + social media a few years later (~2006/2007) placated people. we all got addicted to it and all we cared about was fake friends and meaningless numbers. we took little notice of what was going on around us. meanwhile the rich keep getting richer. apple, google, facebook, amazon, etc rule the world. there are billionaires trying to get us to space. they sell it as progressing humanity but billionaires only care about themselves and how much money they have. if you think you're gonna be a on a space ship to go live on mars then think again. why do you think Musk/Bezos is trying to get to space? when shit goes down they can just fuck off and leave us. they'll live in an off world colony while us poor fucks will be stuck on a dying earth.

you might think i'm a conspiracy nut but in 20-30 years when you're homeless, your body can't cool itself down, can't breath, struggling to find food or water to drink, and addicted to drugs or barely resemble a human....all the while the rich have fucked off.....think back to this warning.

I’m with you, shit is gonna go down between the U.S, China, and Russia within the next 10-15 year imo. Musk wants people on Mars by 2026, I always felt they kinda know something will happen, if your not at least upper middle class you will probably be fucked due to war. The U.S has to be ahead over the other big countries because we all know they will attack.

The amount of rich people that could get off earth and survive in that scenario would pretty much mean the end of human race anyway. There would be not enough genetic material to perpetuate the species. Even if they can clone themselves and continue living that way. I very much doubt that is what is making these guys strive to make it to Mars. Even if they can build the perfect space station and chill out, it would still drive them to madness eventually. They are not stupid. They need a pretty good amount of the population to survive in order to make it worthwhile to perpetuate the human race. Space exploration for this generation is about building the foundation for the next leap of human race. Elon Musk will never truly live in Mars. Hell, he'll be lucky if he can visit and spend a couple days there. Going forward space exploration is about extending the reach of the human species, technological advancement and getting new resources.

From everything you said, the only thing that would be truly be a shame is the destruction of earth's ecosystems. Those are the only truly innocent beings in this planet. The rest... In one way or another have a piece of responsibility of whatever happens in the future. There is nothing to get ready for. Whatever preparations we could make, they won't really matter in an extinction level event. What's the point of surviving another 2 or 3 decades after most of the population and resources are gone? What's the point in living in a bunker eating out of cans and paranoid of anything that happens outside? Fuck it, in a case like that I rather go quickly with the first wave of extermination.

Back on topic: I think AI and drones/robots will come faster and make working almost extinct for humans. If we get augmentation somehow, it won't mainly to perform work. Maybe for sports, maybe for fun, probably for combat (limited as it will be hard to justify sending actual humans to die when robots can be the ones in the frontlines).

With Molecular Nanorobotics, I will easily be 10,000 times stronger than 10,000 of the strongest men on earth today.

You shouldn't worry about what the rich will do, in this scenario Computer Science states Molecular Computation and Molecular Fabrication is in Abundance. Molecules essentially never run out and we will be able to synthesize them due to advanced strides in Computer Science. All technologies become free as a consequence.
And Computer Science also says this metric will essentially exist to provide you your wildest fantasies. Human Flight, Teleportation, Infinite Computation for advanced Deep Dive Game World Simulation, Molecular Food Assembly.
Free Energy, Free Superior Health Care. Immortality. Being able to exist within a Deep Dive BCI while programming your body to carry out routine functions or continue working while you are in a "sleep induced state" experiencing a massive virtual simulation - if you so wish. The Ability to move objects through the air, with your mind...

You lot are talking about using spaceships to fly off the earth when molecular nanotechnology will allow humans to fly in Nano shield environments like a superhero and even teleport.
