They need a lot of fucking work to get AC out of that 6\10 circle.

Combat
Storytelling and characters
Open world activities
Pace
Really everything that wasn't graphic was pretty meh.

If shadows was their best effort i don't have much hope, they need to hire a shitload of new talented people but those don't grow on trees...

Looking at the current state of Ubi and AC, I can't help but think that Patrice Désilets is having himself a sensible chuckle somewhere.

i recently bought AC: shadows special edition on ps5 cause i read there was soo many stealth bug fixes, and so far im liking playing it as Naoe, but the Yasuke otherhand i dont care which race or so he is but theres nothing AC on it i dunno why they made it
I think most feel the same. If he could Parkour, it would have been better, but he can't and it basically breaks the game for a little bit. Still the game is pretty good.

I think there tends to be some revisionism with AC. It was never really a stealth game in any strict sense, and was able to break beyond the relatively small stealth game niche in the first place precisely because it wasn't.

It's true it had some stealth fantasy flavouring, but AC largely got rid of any real consequences for failing at stealth and replaced them with 'now you kill everyone easily', which allowed a mainstream audience that hated stealth games to enjoy AC. I think some of the sync mechanics which (sometimes) encouraged the player to play stealthily were a good idea, but if they make an AC game which consistently demands it of the player I think they will be doing something they haven't done with AC before, and will take it into niche territory.

"We have just passed a monumental moment in Ubisoft's history which, strengthened by this agreement and the success of Assassin's Creed: Shadows, will benefit from a new lease in life,"

AC Shadows is so successful they had to give up 25% control of the franchise and assembled 'transformation committee' to find 'new lease on life' for the franchise :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy:

C'mon where's AC Shadows defenders at?? I wanna hear what their takes on this

Tencent got acammed by the Guillemot crooks, those three franchises are not worth 4 billion euro
Because it's all fake. Here is the article it's taken from.

https://www.bfmtv.com/tech/gaming/u...ouveau-souffle-au-groupe_AN-202505210325.html

It doesn't mention a committee to "find a new lease on life on Assassin's Creed" at all. It says there is a 10-member committee tasked with making $100M in savings in 100 days and that "savings" of $200M have already been made with the closing of 3 studios.

The new lease on life part for AC is completely and utterly fabricated. There's no AC committee at all. Here is the part in French.

It translates to (not ML or some other Google translate. I speak French): Contacted, Ubisoft reassures that Charlie Guillemot is not heading the committee in question and that he is simply one of the members. That is, however, not what was clearly announced to the employees. "To help me find this second wind, I chose to propose my son to take part in the brainstorming surrounding this transformation of our brands and studios. Along with Marie-Sophie de Waubert, he will be responsible for this transformation", reads this email"

This headline is so fake it's almost comical.

"We have just passed a monumental moment in Ubisoft's history which, strengthened by this agreement and the success of Assassin's Creed: Shadows, will benefit from a new lease in life,"
It doesn't say new lease on life in the original French article. This is all made up lol. "Nouveau souffle" in this context doesn't mean "new lease on life". It's more akin to something like a renewal or a second wave of success.
