The Neo Flash 512 MB Kit ... here's a review:

I don't know of any emulators out specifically for the DS YET ... but I imagine it wil lbe pretty cool when people can use this power to play NES games at full speed and maybe full screen, and imagine how many u could fit on a card?

There's no real difference between this and the homebrewed PassMe, they're just selling it with a flash cart.

The odds of this playing commercial games are very low.

Yeah its just a starting point it seems like, but homebrew/emulation looks promising on the system. I'm not sure how well it would be able to do SNES or Genesis, but I imagine it could run NES without a hitch especially since the GBA can already do that for most NES games.

Check out this site, its where I get most DS emulation/homebrew news:

from what i've read, it's been confirmed to play commercial games...

cons:
only 1 DS game can be flashed at a time
the original DS cart in the passme clone slot has to have a big enough sram to save the data (yes, this also means the original game's save is overwritten, hahah...)

... probably half the NES library. :lol

GBA emulates some SNES games (without sound), so I certainly wouldn't rule out decent SNES emulation on DS, Megadrive even more so. Also, PC Engine emulation with full sound and speed should be possible now. I think what could really prevent all this from happening is that the emu writers mostly concentrate their efforts on PSP.

That's a serious problem, and as I understand it, you can't even back up NDS savegames with Neoflash.

Probably won't be long before we see a version with flashable NDS size carts, anyway. I wouldn't want all that shit sticking out of my DS as it is now.

The Action Replay that's coming out, or is it out?, for the DS allows you to back up DS game saves so I assume that this is more than possible and probably would be in the next revision for this .

The ARM series chipset might make DS emulators pretty simple to port though. Look at all the emus and apps for similar ARM series handhelds like N-Gage or GP32.
