Believe it or not, but UK gamers did at one point have taste. It's truly depressing to walk into a games shop here these days.

3 titles in top 23 for all prices (Extended Play being exclusive) and 6 in the top 33 for full price (WTS also exclusive)

Software is selling great over there.

Well PSP is certainly performing relatively impressive, but making the top 40 in the UK probably isn't as spectacular as it sounds. Its still good though.

Xbox360 software sales are relatively good too considering the install bases and the fact it is seemingly available everywhere (so the luster is off it a tad). 4-5 in top 40.

why does it bother people so much when they look at these charts. mainstream taste in everything (games, films, books, food) is hardly ever going to match what fan(atics) think should sell well. do you go to music message boards and complain that 'its chico time' is the number one favourite music of teenage girls? if people enjoy crap like fifa street, why shouldn't they buy it ?

and as has been said a billion times, just about every video game chart (from all countries) is filled with generic carp, it's only the uk chart that groups together franchises across platforms that pushes them to the top.

plus shadow of the colossus was number one in the uk a few weeks ago - is that what you meant when you said the uk used to have good taste?

yes and both are being outsold by FIFA just like i said. ??

To be fair though, aren't they just adding together sales for the game from all platforms it's been released for? That means 4 for PES5 (Xbox, PS2, PSP and PC) vs 8 for Fifa '06 (GBA, DS, PSP, GC, Xbox, PS2, PC and, I think, Xbox 360).

I actually find it very impressive that the PES series has been getting closer and closer to FIFA in terms of sales (maybe even surpassed it on selected platforms??). I just never imagined that would happen, seeing as EA is huge in the West and got all the player/league/whatever licences that people seemed to care about.

You're right, lets see who's to blame for FIFA Street 2. :P

PS2 #1
PSP #1
GCN #1
Xbox #2
DS #10

It didn't rank in the top 20 for the GBA, PC, or Xbox 360.
