We are back with our latest look at the UK physical gaming charts and, in a quiet week for new releases, might we finally be seeing Luigi's Mansion 2 HD starting to slip?

Nintendo's latest remaster has slid down to fifth this time, with the behemoths of Hogwarts Legacy, EA Sports FC 24 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe climbing above it. The 'Lovestruck' expansion for The Sims 4 has also made the podium in its first week, grabbing second place and becoming the only new release in the top 10.

Elsewhere, Outright Games' DC Justice League: Cosmic Chaos has made its physical chart debut at 19th with a whopping 69% of sales coming from the Switch and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown (which returned to the top 10 last week) is still hanging around, albeit at 18th now.

Hogwarts legacy and FIFA still selling so much on a 12 year old platform.

Buying a ps5 at launch a lot of gamers could realistically go 15 years in my book before needing a ps6 or 7.

Its super slow month/week, and below top10 in the uk in slow month means not even 10k sales , i wanna see september ones with astrobot launch, banking on top1 ofc but we will see in few weeks ;D

While there are some games with big budgets that push the tech, for most third party games there is very little reason to cut off the very active Switch/PS4 userbases.

This is only physical sales, digital is more common on new platforms, except Switch.
Would be interesting to see real numbers. Are we talking about 100 or 10,000 copies for the top game here?

2. Crossgen is mostly over at this point and once GTAVI releases PS4 is history. Most people that haven't made the jump (about Playstation's 50% userbase) they will make by then.

Those splits are fascinating in a way that not only just physical but it includes old gen. PS4 contributing to 26% physical sales is madness at this point of time.

Makes me wonder if PS4 console sales are also purchases to play old games like Fallout 4.

I never said it was woke, I said the game was pretty good at being inclusive.

I agree that the movie has racial diversity. Hogwarts has this too.

2. Crossgen is mostly over at this point and once GTAVI releases PS4 is history. Most people that haven't made the jump (about Playstation's 50% userbase) they will make by then.

It's also worth mentioning that the older a game is the better the weekly split will be in favour of last-gen.

People still playing on last-gen consoles are more likely to be budget conscious and wait for discounts, while owners of the latest consoles are more likely to already have purchased the game nearer to it's launch at a higher price.
