UK Boxed Charts: Week 8, 2024 (Feb 18 - Feb 24)

Thick Thighs Save Lives

NeoGAF's Physical Games Advocate Extraordinaire

After its debut at number one last week, Mario vs. Donkey Kong has slipped down to third in the UK Boxed Charts, leaving EA Sports FC 24 and Hogwarts Legacy to take number one and two respectively.

It's still a good showing for the plumber, however, with three Mario titles once again settling in nicely in the top ten. Elsewhere, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has seen a good boost in sales to jump up to number eight, while Warner Bros. Games' much-maligned Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has fallen down to number twenty-four.
There are no newcomers to speak of this week, though it's probably safe to say that next week will be dominated by Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which launches this week on 29th February, 2024.

Here's your look at this week's top 40 in full, with platform breakdowns for all of the titles available on other consoles alongside the Switch:

It's why I'm always confused about people talking about the profitability of Spider-Man 2 as if it was done selling. It's going to have a LONG LONG life... Will be a best selling game next holiday season too and maybe for the rest of the PS5's life.

Then it'll get a remaster that people will complain about on PS6, but that game will sell well too...

So yeah, it cost 300 million to develop, but it's going to sell for a while, get a PC port, get a PS5 Pro patch, and get a PS6 remaster, not to mention a Venom side-sequel. The franchise has sold 50 million units since 2018... It's selling nearly 10 million copies a year on average...

Will anybody ask or understand that these weekly INCREASE in sales for a new release in HD2 is mainly or ONLY coming from PS5 users? Or are we supposed to ignore this?
