The original root beer and a taste of heaven.
I used to hate Garibaldis and fig rolls but now quite enjoy them. Same with Christmas pudding and raisin toast. I loathed dried fruit (particularly sultanas/raisins) in my desserts/food but as I got older I've acquired the taste.
Side note for the Americans ITT:
The word 'biscuit' comes from the Latin word meaning twice-cooked, i.e. cooked and then dried out, to create a hard cookie-like baked treat.
'Cookie' is a particular type of biscuit (flat, round, oven-baked, usually with chunky ingredients mixed in).
The fluffy buttermilk biscuit you speak of stole the name. That's actually a scone.

Fuuck I haven't had a Dandelion and Birdmuck in a while, gonna have to go down to the chippy and see if they're doing the big glass bottles, gotta be able to return that bad boy.

Shortbread is by far the best type of biscuit, I've had chocolate covered shortbread to dip in my tea and it was the best tea break I've ever had. And chocolate shortbread cookies always tempt me on a trip to Sainsbury's/ Tesco.
Rich Tea biscuits are also great.

Fentimans Dandelion and Burdock is the bee's knees. Sadly I doubt it is available at the chippy but grab a bottle if you ever see it.

Yeah, I thought about doing that. But since my grandparents are getting on a bit, I've decided to visit once a year from now on. The current plan is to take a suitcase with a few changes of clothes and a bunch of souvenirs. Naturally, there'll be plenty of biscuits and irn bru in there for the return journey.
