Hey kids welcome to EA country!

*stabs his follow countrymen for being stupid*

British are lulled by advertising, EA does a lot of it and nobody else really does. The Incredibles has been advertised LOADS recently as well as the new shittier getaway game

NFS:U2 is devouring everything in it's path. Man they really knew what their public wanted in the sequel and the best way to advertise to them. Very impressive numbers.

Aaah, that old trick of letting people know your game exists....

Also, notice the lack of Nintendo-exclusive games. Guess the Xbox and PS2 shortages aren't really helping them after all.

I personally got the following recently (not this week):

       6 9 PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 4 KONAMI

And I'm happy with every one. I actually enjoy FIFA more than PES4 in offline multiplayer. PES4 is a deeper, better game, but this FIFA has it's place.

NFSU2 is far better than the first. Quite addictive.

NFSU2 (7/10), Incredibles (n/r), FIFA (7/10), Goldeneye (5/10), Getaway (5/10), Urbz (4/10), THIRD AGE (4/10)!!!!
(ratings from Gamereactor)

WORST. TASTE. EVER. I'm ashamed to be European. We need to launch our mag in the UK and teach them what games not to buy.

How much of the actual market does this chart cover? In Sweden we get similar charts, but it lacks a lot of the specialist shops and even one large specialist chain.

Gamequality doesn`t really matter all that much anymore. It`s about brandname and hype. Plus it doesn`t help when mainstream media very often gives great scores to mediocre games.

I`ve seen Goldeneye for example getting 9/10 in videogame tv programs here. :/

Chart track is quite good in the UK. Amazon.co.uk, Argos, Asda, Blockbuster, Comet, Chips, Choices, Currys, Dixons, Eplay, Game, Gamestation, Gameplay, HMV, Independents, Jungle, MVC, PC World, Sanity, Staples, The Software Store, Tesco, Virgin, V-Shops, W H Smith, Woolworths.

The core ones there are HMV, Virgin Megastores, Game, Gamestation etc. and they support every format. But the high street stores have quite an impact, and some of those have dropped or reduced Gamecube support: Comet/Currys/Dixons, PC World, Woolworths. Largely because of poor deals and sales in those stores. But that helps explain Nintendo's complete impotence in the UK chart, even when they release a big title themselves (ie. Metroid Prime 2 the other week). Iwata should be as ashamed of things here as he is of Australia. It needs sorting next gen.
