UMVC3: Phoenix Wright and Nova Revealed!

I'm so sad about Taskmaster's nerfs. I will still play him, but I loved how much damage he could do.

I'm not too bothered, the combos Max showed off still did 600+k and air X-Factor will basically give you an almost guaranteed character kill if you have two meters. The mobility tweak with the Spidey Swing cancel also gives you some new toys to play with.

Those weren't even nerfs. They were more like fixes. The dude was basically rushed out with tools that never should have stuck. Ridiculous power on his normal and hyper arrows that was out of wack.

The relaunch thing is fine by me since 600k damage is still not hard at all to get with day two combos.

That's true. It'll be interesting to see what the spidey swing changes lead to.

Some dude on srk's saying that Capcom sent out another email that said that they accidentally sent that first one a out a little to early due to an internal error on their part.

Wonder if it's true or not.

Well, that can't be right, because the email also said they'd be releasing assets from Asura's Wrath, and Operation Raccoon City, and those both came out today.

It's true. They sent it about an hour after the fact too.

it said the whole thing was sent too early, but they can't take back the release dates leaked. It should all be out this weekend or REALLY soon

Regarding release dates, almost all their big stuff coming out first quarter. Looks fairly quiet on the fighting game front for the latter half of next year. I wonder what's brewing...

He did get legitimate nerfs on top of his fixes (relaunch, probably the multiple arrow hypers fix and scaling on hyper after combos). Moves float lower, damage lower on the normal arrows (it was like 180K total on the arrows now it's like 130K which means reduced damage on block too). Overall damage scaling cap lowered too.

All fair changes IMO... no reason why this guy should be able to kill characters with a touch. The new Stab move plus the cancellable Swing are legitimate buffs to his overall game play that will guarantee that he sees tournament/high level play. Probably will be seeing less of him online though.

I have about 3000 matches played with Task and I can totally see where they're coming from with this. The really broken stuff involving the arrow swing relaunches was never really part of my game plan because I was too incnsistent with them, but stuff like the arrow nerfs doesn't bother me that much. May still replace him because there are a lot of other characters I'd like to try, but I wouldn't drop him over this.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up.

Nice to know Capcom still kinda sucks at the whole internet thing.

Sven said that he can talk about rebooting Darkstalkers next year.

Which probably won't happen.

Now the Street Fighter 25th anniversary is what you should be looking forward to next year. Captivate will be interesting.

If it's an AE-style update
An update withheld from the US for an extended period, with 4 characters, 2 intentionally overpowered in order to make people buy it, and 2 that are alternate versions of existing characters?

They're already a step on the way with Ultimate only adding alternate version stages, adding none at all will be the next logical step.

Lilith and Sakura incoming? I'm okay with this.

Embarassing leaks and CapcomEuro twitter incident aside, I'd say they're better at it than most other game companies. They have Capcomunity, livestream their events albeit worse than fan efforts, have a spokesperson like Seth connect with the community via Twitter and through interviews on lots of gaming websites and have embraced someone like Maximillian promoting their game in a humorous fashion.

I can't think of many other companies that spread their web presence through as many different channels and do it quite effectively.

If it's an AE-style update with the 8 dropped characters, I'm cool w/ that.

NO! I meant I want those 8 dropped characters, along with 4 to 6 additional characters to make it more sweeet for me to buy! :)

Also I just saw the news about trailers today.. I knew it! Someone hold me!

Your avatar is mindfucking me. Stop it!

As regards to SF 25th anniversary, what do you think they have in mind? Seems way too soon for SF V. Though you know for sure this is one 25th they care about :P

So, SSF4AE? Unless they actually do the "All-Star" thing from a gameplay perspective and have grooves for each SF game...but then why would you pick anything except P groove?

Eh, they could of made oni a new character completely and no one would bitch he doesn't really play like any of the shotos at all he doesn't even fucking really look like akuma either save for a few things here and there. Would people say the same things really if all they added was Oni and Yun? Yang and evil ryu are the two extra's from it.

Actually, I was thinking Street Fighter All Star with SSF4 Engine (With some kind of adjustment) They would have 39 characters ready and they can port those new characters from SF x TK easily)

I think SFV announcement is completely okay for next year. Just don't release it so early. 2013 mid-to-late. But then again, that's next generation kind of timing, I think they may save it.

But they DO need to fill the void with fighting games after SFxT, so maybe that's where Darkstalkers comes in. To fill the gap in their steady stream of fighters to keep SFV bankrolled. I just don't think Darkstalkers would bring in the money.

I like Darkstalkers, but I don't think there's room in the market for another fighting game, especially one like Darkstalkers that was never a huge hit even back in the arcade days.

I kinda want them to adapt those characters into a different kind of game. I'd absolutely play an action game starring a bunch of crazy halloween monsters.

Or a sidescroller fighter.

Ono giving Darkstalkers fans hope was some dumb ass shit to watch. SMH. DARKSTALKERS IS NOT DEAD, and if it is dead, which it is, I'll create fake hope in you so you guys could get Megaman Legend'd when nothing comes out of this. Basically Ono talking out of his ass, again.
