Uncharted the movie - Trailer 2

I've been completely against this movie the moment Tom Holland was cast as Nathan and that will remain true. Just awful casting and it looks to be another bad video game movie.

Looks better than trailer 1 tbh.

Hopefully the purists can now rest about the damn mustache.

That said...releasing this in February will be...tough for movie theaters i think.

Looks like it'll be a fun movie. I hope I feel the same way after watching it but looking forward to it. But, man, gamers just want to hate on everything and seem to take everything as an attack on what they might call their own lol.

Just read the thread where heath ledger was cast as the joker...

So they basically took the sickest parts of all 4 games and ruined them to make a mashed up CGI shit fest with Tom Holland literally playing Peter Parker. This looks horrible my God. And to think we could have had Nathan Fillion. His fan film was much better.

A few friends and I saw an Uncharted trailer just before the new Spider-Man movie... it got a "meh" from all of us.
I'm not opposed to an Uncharted movie, it could be something fun like The Mummy or Sahara, but Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg just seem like bad choices. I'd rather have a 100% CGI movie, like Advent Children or one of the Resident Evil movies, than rushed casting choices.

Maybe I'll watch it when it hits Netflix or Amazon Prime Video.

Yeah, I remember that too. I wouldn't separate comic fans from gamers.....so it's basically the same thing! But yeah, what I recall is how people were questioning Heath's casting as the Joker.

Quite a different situation, mind.
Sure, I guess....don't care to argue over this, the point was, gamers easily and without question are always quick to hate on movies that might be based on things they like in the gaming world. It's basically the norm.

Why didn't Wahlberg at least grow a 'stache? That seems like the bare minimum to not come across as totally lazy on this.

he should have a cameo in the next jumanji movie.

I can see this movie doing very well if it attracts that audience.
Most people I know who watched Jumanji myself included just watched the 4DX version, basically just treat it as a ride with a surprisingly decent story. If this had a 4DX release I could see it doing well for people who just want to see the set pieces in that medium.

If I was the one who was calling the shots on who's is going to be casted for the roles and one of my associates suggests Tom Holland as Drake and Mark Whalberg as Sully then they would just be fired on then spot for even suggesting such awful ideas.

Seriously, who in the their fucking mind thought these are good casts? Fucking idiots. Ruined the whole thing. Oh wait... I'll just play Uncharted 1-4 and get a better experience anyways.

I mean it does look pretty fun.
It's just that they are adapting a franchise that's extremely derivative without including the actual characters which are the entire soul of the franchise. So the only thing that looks or feels like "Uncharted" here is the plane sequence.

You could have this exact same trailer with Nic Cage showing up at the end and I'd buy that it's a National Treasure prequel/sequel.

Jesus Christ this looks like an expensive piece of shit. It's like if Indiana Jones merged with Fast and Furious to produce a shitty modern action movie. The casting is absolutely laughable too. I will stream this for free.

Fun fact:

The two helicopters seen lifting the waterlogged wooden Galleons look like "slightly modified for copywrite/trademark purposes" CH-54s (Military Skycrane) which have a maximum lift capacity of 20,000lbs (typical shipping container capacity). In fact the world record lift for a helicopter is the Mil-V12 (which itself weighs 100 tons) which lifted 97,455lbs in controlled conditions. In fact a single CH-54 can't even lift a complete Chinook Helicopter off the ground.

A Spanish galleon that size would clock in up to 2000 tons, or 4,480,000lbs. Loaded with gold and other shit could add up to another 1000 tons bringing the potential weight to 6,720,000lbs or even higher as they were sitting in a damp cave.

So we're already just a bit over capacity by about 4.4 million pounds for a single heavy-lift chopper here, and now we're smashing them into mountains while performing crazy maneuvers in heavy-lift helicopters.

Movie physics are fun!

For real. Spindly Spidey isn't Nathan Drake. It would have made more sense for Mark Wahlberg to play Nathan.

P.S. I can't stand Tom Holland. He's the most annoying Spider-Man ever. Well... maybe on-par with Tobey Maguire. But at least with Tobey you could blame bad writing on some of it. /endrant

cant be worse than venom 2 ...
oh boy dunk GIF
so 500,000,000 box office NICE.

I think Jumanji is a set-piece movie you can take your kids to. So thats why it makes 1 billion a pop. I think this movie has the potential to capture the same audience. But then I saw guns… but transformers had guns… so it'll be fine.

Unless they unleash serial killer drake.

Looks better, more like what an Uncharted movie should look like. But Tom Holland and Marky Mark don't look like as Nate and Sully, let's hope that for the sequel they hire someone like Henry Cavill to play as adult Nate and put some grey hair to Sully.

I don't see Tom Holland as Nate, and I don't see him as Peter Parker.

Doesn't matter if it's realistic or not, it's only an action and adventure movie. Like in games, it's more important to be cool and fun than to be realistic, which doesn't matter. And in the trailer seems as a cool, badass set piece. What is what this kind of movies need, to be cool and entertaining.

Sorry but I can't get behind this. It looks terrible, the casting, the voices. Since when was Drake Jackie Chan with the king Fu martial arts moves.

Total disaster.

I'll see it if only to hope that we get a more true to story adaptation of the best Uncharted (Among Thieves) for the sequel.

The casting is bad but I'll still gladly watch this, looks like solid action with some humor, and Banderas is there 👍

let's hope that for the sequel they hire someone like Henry Cavill to play as adult Nate
Omg please no! I had enough trouble accepting Cavill as Geralt, too bulky, would be even worse as Nathan.

That's because 99.9% of the time they're always rubbish? And because this trailer is so sensationally terrible? And because this movie - I can near as guarantee it - will be panned by every critic and only loved by…well… I'm not even sure at this point.
