Special Features are scheduled to include:
*3 featurettes with Peter Jackson, director of The Lord of the Rings trilogy
--Tour of Jackson’s personal Kong memorabilia
--The Magic of Kong’s Stop Motion Wizardry

*Fascinating feature-length documentary on the Creator of King Kong, Merian C. Copper
*Interview with Peter Jackson on how King Kong influenced his filmmaking

Smart move. Does anyone know if the feature length doc is new for the dvd? And when does the first Kong trailer come out?

Son of a bitch! What the fuck is Peter Jackson doing disgracing my Kong set? If he wants to talk about King Kong and how it influenced him, do it on the DVD set for his own fucking version! These featurettes better not be ego trips for him, or lame promotions for his movie. I want info on King Kong (1933) not his lame fetish and filmmaking skills.

*sigh*

At least it's finally come to DVD.

Exactly what would you like Universal to do for commentary on the original movie? Nearly everyone involved with the 1933 version is dead.

There's no mention of a Jackson commentary, thank god.

I'd much rather see real film historians and critics discuss the film than just see Jackson wank off to it in some veiled attempt at promoting his own upcoming release. A tribute to Fay Wray would be far more deserving than a tribute to Peter Jackson's collection of memorabilia.

If Jackson sticks in giant killer spiders in his version, I'll forgive him for the LOTR trilogy.

They're in there. They are using Shelob as a basis to go from.

heh, funny you should mention that. Peter Jackson was the last person to ever capture Fay Wray on film in an interview he did with her.
