What he said is very much relevant to the game. It's not a game that comes up much in discussions here so it's as good a place as any for him to vent if he needed to.
So you're saying using a thread about Nintendo's eshop issues to vent and go on a long diatribe regarding the example game and derailing said eshop thread, not a form of triggered response? What he said is very much relevant to the game. I don't really care much, but if the content in Unpacking how it was rated is an issue, it's probably better served in its' own as that discussion isn't relative or productive to the topic at hand.

I'm just going to say it. This thread probably isn't as active without his input regarding what his kid experienced with it.
The only rude thing here is your suggestions, nothing more. That’s rude, my man.
Man...I've said it before on this forum and I'll say it again, it sure would be nice to have someone here to run defense, aide, and save me conversationally the way that some of you do for others.I'm just going to say it. This thread probably isn't as active without his input regarding what his kid experienced with it.
2 birds, one cup.
And? That's not really counter to anything I said.
cireza You have a hell of a friend here.
It wasn't supposed to be a counter ya silly robot.
I was just making a statement on how I see things after this thread has unfolded the way it has.
The last thread we got regarding this game only got a single reply:
Award-winning indie game Unpacking has finally been dated for PlayStation

The title, which Australia development studio Witch Beam describes as “a zen puzzle game about...www.neogaf.com
Could he have made a thread at some point instead? Probably, but it might not have been at the forefront of his mind to do so and let it slide until the relevant opportunity arose to bring it up.
It does exactly this. The main character is a girl, grows up, starts living with a guy. The game shows (without much subtlety) that the guy is an asshole so OF COURSE the girl becomes lesbian. Most logical course of action !
I find this dumb but whatever, the issue is not about a girl becoming homosexual because she couldn't easily store her things in her boyfriend's flat. It is about :
Rated E for Everyone. Age 3+.
The game was in Game Pass, I installed it for my kids to try it out. And after a while... question from my 6 years old girl :
Dad, where are the boy's things and why are another girl's things instead ?
My answer :
The boy was an absolute asshole darling, so the girl decided to love girls instead and became lesbian. Grow up to be a beautiful lesbian. Living with a man is bad. Dad is an asshole too.
Of course I didn't answer this and uninstalled the game instead.
I personally find unacceptable to push these kind of themes in Age 3+ games.
We all know. You didn’t do anything wrong. We just have a bunch of magoos worried about staying on topic in thread that would have been on page 4 otherwise because no1currrrr about this dev.I didn't mean to shift the thread on another discussion. I simply reacted due to my past experience with the game, and I was asked to further elaborate so I did.
Lets have some self reflection here. No, that was referencing your post, and you're still at it.
He did, but it's okay. Personally I'll admit I just dislike when people try to paint a different picture than what I am currently seeing. It bothers my logical side. I can never put aside the truth to defend someone, and maybe that's a fault I'll have to live with on this forum. We all know. You didn’t do anything wrong. Because cireza owning up to it and apologizing in his own way, instead of doing what you and GHG just did. No offense to either of you.I didn't mean to shift the thread on another discussion. I simply reacted due to my past experience with the game, and I was asked to further elaborate so I did.
If the character dumped her boyfriend for another boyfriend and the kid asked, would you be having the same reaction? It's no different. Just say she left the boyfriend and found a girlfriend, it's not difficult.
That sounds like utter tripe. I wouldn't want to be explaining that shite to my six year old either. Why on earth would they even need to know shit like that?
it always amazes me how much the eShop is an absolute dumpster fireI really wonder how many people even buy all of the knock off/shovel wear shit on the eShop?
I raised my kid how I wanted. Turned out to be a brilliant ladIf the character dumped her boyfriend for another boyfriend and the kid asked, would you be having the same reaction? It's no different. Just say she left the boyfriend and found a girlfriend, it's not difficult.
Do you have an issue with 3+ rated media featuring straight themes?Awesome job at totally missing the point.
Nowhere did I say that I have an issue with the topic. The issue is that this is a game rated 3+.
Do I really need to explain how I want, as a father, be in control of how and when themes such as this are presented to my 6 year old daughter ?
Likewise do you prefer games with straight characters to have a heterosexual tag, so we can keep the social contagion in check?I prefer such games to have an LGBTQ tag. I do not want this social contagion anywhere near children (especially anyone less than 11-12 years old).
Check on common sense media for such content in books/movies/games, before you download/buy. For example, on common sense media, for unpacking under diverse representations it says "Unpacking provides important positive LGBTQ+ representation. The main character is queer and enjoys a happy ending with her partner and newborn baby. Additionally, the presence of a Menorah indicates the main character is Jewish, an underrepresented ethno-religious group in games, and a Hamsa wall hanging also appears later in the game, which could belong to the main character's partner, and is generally representative of Middle Eastern heritage."
So lesbians are "weird sexual habits". What about straight people? If you don't want to be hypocritical you wouldn't want your kid seeing straight relationships in media either. If you think there's a difference between those two that's straight up homophobia and I really hope your son didn't learn that from you.I raised my kid how I wanted. Turned out to be a brilliant lad
All without having to talk about weird sexual habits of people, at six.

Sounds like a lifetime movie. It does exactly this. The main character is a girl, grows up, starts living with a guy. The game shows (without much subtlety) that the guy is an asshole so OF COURSE the girl becomes lesbian. Most logical course of action !

No one said that.So lesbians are "weird sexual habits"
What about them? If you want grandkids, that's the standard, yes. What about straight people?
What?If you don't want to be hypocritical you wouldn't want your kid seeing straight relationships in media either.
lesbians like women, Not men and woman, that's called Bisexual. I'm not really into explaining the sexual weirdness of Bisexuality to a six year old, because that's confusing as fuck to a six year oldIf you think there's a difference between those two that's straight up homophobia and I really hope your son didn't learn that from you.
See my post above smart arseBeing gay is a weird sexual habit now
