Upcoming Vita Games (~200+ Upcoming games in ENGLISH) || 2017 Edition ||

That kinda depends on which VN it is. Big doesn't mean good.

I doubt "big" really means big for LRG either, considering Doug was saying just a few weeks ago that they'd have to take on a title with very little text for their first game.

In that sense, I'd imagine it's something that's already localized, maybe just a Vita-enhanced port with a bit of extra content. Like say, Fata Morgana...

It could just be poor wording on Doug's part. If it is FM saying it's 'an amazing VN for Vita' or something similar would've been far better.

I'd also buy it in an instant.

Only if is Higurashi, Ever 17 or Umineko.
Higurashi and Umineko were localized by MangaGamer though, Umineko doesn't have a Vita port (nor does Ever17), and Higurashi's port was done by the now-defunct Alchemist and is thus probably in legal limbo. So I doubt it could be either of those three.
Nope.

It's not like there are a lot of big vns which haven't been localized. The only one I can think of is FSN.

Chaos;Head comes to mind...

He did retweet the Fata Morgana campaign message.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he's hinting at Fata Morgana with that tweet.

Maybe we did it guys. Maybe another grassroots campaign got us another Vita game. That would be awesome (I was thinking of writing an article about this very topic actually).

Pretty nice guy (apart from the blue shadows thing...)
Also, I wonder if NISA will localize Exile's Election and Iwahime: Matsuri. They're both PS4/Vita visual novels from their parent company which do not rely on gross or it's too obscure. If they don't any of those two, I think they're officially done localizing visual novels. Because Iwahime: Matsuri looks amazing.

I will be -all- over Iwahime Matsuri, as would I be on an Eng localization. The pedigree alone is nuts (I mean, Ryukishi07) and it's a relatively untouched genre in mainstream VN loc. Fingers crossed! A PS4 version certainly helps...

Not to mention Tsuihou Senkyo/Exile's Election. I'm playing it now and while more than a little derivative, definitely a worthy release.

How silly of me, any impressions on EE?

I can't seem to find any, except for the famitsu score :/

Oh, hey, I'll provide some when I get half a moment :)

Hope it is that. Would love clannad also. I own all this shit on steam but playing VNs on a laptop is terrible. So is the handheld someone will recommend as a solution now.

Also congrats to Xseed for releasing trails 3rd. So happy for them and for the series. it deserves all the support. It will do amazing for them.

I think the biggest physical release in May should be Summon Night 6. It should be a somewhat limited run of a Vita title, that comes with a full-colored manual, not to mention a physical soundtrack on participating retailers.

It's closer to a David Cage interactive movie than an RPG.

Time Travelers is a game that is oddly dear to my heart. And yeah, that's a good description. Even less interactivity than your typical David Cage jam, though.

I want to pick this up but there's still no price info from my local retailer so we can't order it yet. I think I'm going Vita for this one, but I haven't completely disregarded the PS4 version yet. I got DOAX and DQB for vita and I think both are better on the PS4 so I got them again, so I feel slightly burned especially when they were all basically full price.

There's been zero buzz for this title too considering it also comes out on PS4, it looks great.

Going to skip the other May releases, wanted Utawarerumono, but I got enough for now.

Time Travelers would be great, even though it's unlikely. I remember really wanting to play it and hoping any of the versions would get localized, but none did.

I'm a simple man, I see Time Travellers, I post this:

Time Travellers has Sawashiro Miyuki's best work.

If you like TT, it's not really impossible to not forget it. It has an awesome soundtrack, and a surprisingly likable cast.

Also, for the nth time. Don't watch/read PV, trailers and promotional shit if you're already set on it anyways (or you can play the demo instead). If you already did watch those spoilery shit, we don't have ways to pinpointedly delete memories yet, so sorry.

And if
you didn't like it, you have to see a psychiatrist. It's better liking 70% of things that getting annoying by 70% of things, yo!

You can also see my old post re:this.

Finished a new article looking at Vita's 10 most technically impressive games (to me):

https://kresnik258gaming.wordpress....-showcased-the-handhelds-technical-abilities/

Thoughts? Any I've missed out?

(I've gone for pure technical achievements rather than artstyle or anything else, which is why Rayman or Vanillaware stuff isn't there).

Good list and sad but true conclusion! Personally I would still rank Odins Sphere aswell. It looks absolutely amazing, not just from an artistic perspective. It also runs great with 60fps most of the time. That's something most developer couldn't archive and in my opinion it's a technical achievement given the fantastic graphics. I think it's another step above Rayman or other Vanillaware stuff, but I can see why you didn't include it.

That's the only Vanillaware game on Vita I haven't played so maybe I missed a trick by leaving it off, someone else did mention that to me actually.

I do believe you pretty much nailed it! Sly: Thieves in Time might be a runner-up for me, along with Ninja Gaiden Σ2, perhaps also MvC3 and SFxT...

MvC and SxT almost made the list, indeed. Didn't really think of Sly, but it's definitely a pretty game on Vita.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 though, I'm not so sure about. That game is effectively headlining my next article about poor quality ports on Vita :p

Ooh, it's been a LONG time... was Σ1 the exceptional port?

Edit: NOPE. I just threw that in, and... ouch. I guess back in launch period I was more easily impressed :p

Sigma 1 was a decent port iirc. It was chopped down to 30FPS but it was fairly smooth and looked nice.

Sigma 2 is the one that fluctuates between like 10FPS and 30FPS and the resolution is all over the place.

I liked the article, but if you really want to make headway as an author, you really need to get a better handle. It doesn't bother me, but I think normies might be put off.
