Hey Guys, since Nintendo is working with ATI, and I know that ATI has a portable 3D chip in store for those handheld devices.

This chip can easily go into the GBA slot of the DS. Of course they might want to modify the chip to get rid of features the system doesn't need. If they ever decide to built a Nintendo DS SP system, they can integrate this chip so GBA lovers won't have to swap out the new 3D chip to play GBA games.

I'm actually pretty sure nintendo has something to this effect in play right now. Maybe for E3?

If someone has some idea of how the GBA slot works for the DS, we can figure out if that interface privides the proper pipeline for this upgrade.

The DS is unclocked at the moment to save the battery, like the PSP. At E3 they'll probably be showing off the games that use the normal clock speed of the CPU.

If this is true, then come E3, there may just be a ball-game (we'll see the TRUE power of the DS). I'd laugh my ass off if it looked just as good.

I think it's too early in DS's life cycle for these kind of upgrade / addon.
