US - PSN FLASH SALE

I recently bought a physical collection of the first 3 Rayman games + Origins on PC for 7€, so I'm passing on the Rayman deals but they are great anyway.

Looking for gaf perspective
Was looking at either
Motogp 14
Or
Ride
For relatively easy plats for PS4
How are these games and how easy are the plats?

Also was kinda interested in sword art but I've read some mixed things and the info may have been related to the other sword art game that was on PS4 anyone willing to give me some insight on these?
Also from all accounts peggle is great right?

I think this is a great sale.

Definitely picking up the Fatal Frames, Bionic Commando games, and PS4 Strider.

Is it still the case that Final Fight Double Impact and Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 have some weird server check in DRM in order to play? I remember that being that thing, only on PS3.... Kind of scary that they could shut down the server and you can't play your own game someday.

Thanks!

Anyone know if Final Fight Double Impact still requires an online check?

I just took the plunge so I thought I'd let you guys know. Signed out of PSN, attempted to boot it up, and was just greeted by a messsage from the ps3 os that says "Please sign in to PSN".

Man, that's super shitty.

Still looking for any feedback on Let's Sing 2016 from anyone who likes rhythm games?

Found this in a review:
a solid buy for anyone in need of a karaoke game on the PS4. Its wide variety of modes make it a hugely entertaining release to play with friends or by yourself, and the vast range of songs ensures that you'll always have something to sing.

So I mean, if you like singing games, go for it.

Yeah, that sucks. :(

Thanks for the info, man!

If people. like me, are on the fence on Alice: Madness Returns there's an hour-long trial of the game available via PS+.

Keep in mind that Rayman 1 is one of the hardest most unforgiving platformers I've ever played.

For me, a good platformer has to also just give you simple joy from just moving your character and navigating the environments. I found Rayman 1 seriously lacking in the "fun factor", difficulty aside. I just played it last year, but I would not recommend it at all. It's colorful and vibrant, but just a chore with controller in hand.

I'll leave the decision up to y'all: I'm considering both Peggle 2 and Flow for PS4. I never played Peggle, and quite enjoyed Flower. Should I get both of the games?

That's absolutely vile. I remember it was only on the PS3 versions to reduce game sharing.

And what are the chances they'll patch that out when they inevitably shut down the server (answer: zilch. Never happening. They barely remember these releases now.)

I bought Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 and I believe it has the same sign-in check, so I'm on the same boat. Oh well. The day PSN shuts down, I'm sure there will be a way to install a hacked version of these games. Bite me, 2010 Capcom.

That game is shit from what I remember. I guess it might not be terrible for a couple bucks.

There's two Ridge Racer games that are playable on Vita: Ridge Racer Vita, a Vita launch title that is pretty universally reviled, and Ridge Racer PSP, a 2004 Ridge Racer that got very good reviews. It's the PSP version that's on sale, not the Vita version.

I think most of the people who've chimed in in this thread have said it's good ("the last great Ridge Racer" got mentioned a few times) so it's probably worth three bucks.

Kind of disappointed in myself for buying Bionic Commando 2 and Final Fight considering their DRM but I had forgotten all about it. It wasn't that much money at least but I strongly dislike the business practice.

Bought a ton of PS1 and PS2 games too so it was a good sale for me anyway. Söldner-X 2 on the Vita is turning out to be a pleasant surprise too.

Someone sell me on Neptunia. I'm kinda tempted on getting it

If you like anime and waifus, go ahead. The games are loved for the characters and the humor the most. If you go in expecting a JRPG then you might be let down. It's equal parts a visual novel I'd say so enjoying the dialog is a must.

Oh you're totally right. Completely forgot there were two actual PSP games. Yeah that one is actually decent.
Based orthodoxy, thanks!
Happy to help!

Loving The Swapper, though those puzzles got to 'dickish' level REAL fast.

Also, if you're tossed between Code: Realize and Norn9 and can't get both, then get Code: Realize. Both are good for different reasons, but Code: Realize overall is the better otome.

Is the first Solder-X worth buying? I'm already set on getting the X-2 bundle.

Edit: Nevermind. Don't think it's my kind of shmup.

Not a fan of waifus but if it's a decent JRPG and has good characters I'll give it a shot.

Now to see if anything else catches my eye

How's sword art ps4?

Co-signed

Sell me on it pls

I ended up buying the game for myself since I was curious about the title and, for five bucks, even a few hours worth of entertainment would be a good return on value. I've only played about an hour and a half, so my very early impressions are as follows:
  • The game--and this might be obvious--caters very heavily towards existing Sword Art Online fans. It doesn't do much to transition players who are unfamiliar with the series as a whole. I would not say I'm a fan of Sword Art Online, but I found it entertaining enough to watch the series and even read the first few light novels.
  • I think the visuals are pretty polished considering it is based on the Vita game. It's clean, somewhat simple, but well done overall. Just do not expect it to graphically "wow" you.
  • Gameplay tutorial is a bit convoluted, and I don't think it explains the systems in place for battles very well. There seems to be a bit more behind it as I ended up browsing online to clarify some aspects of it.
  • The initial few exploratory battles I did were fun, but I can see how it can become repetitive unless new mechanics are going to be introduced at a steady pace.
  • There are lots of visual novel influences. You'll be talking to the various cast of Sword Art Online characters to move the plot along through character portraits and dialogue. I got a chuckle here and there, but mostly because I am familiar with the characters as mentioned previously.

So... in short, so far, not bad. It's going to be more of a "pick up and play" type of game for me when I'm in the mood for something a tad less serious.

Not a fan of waifus but if it's a decent JRPG and has good characters I'll give it a shot.
It has boring breakable battle system, the dungeons are lazy (copy pasted), and the characters are annoying. If you like "moe" characters and fan service and don't care about the story, battle system, and setting in an rpg then yeah you should check out Neptunia.

All I ended up getting was Jojo since it was so cheap..I really wish the PS1 Jojo HD ver. went on sale before it got delisted..it was such a fun game.
