US PSN: Spend $100 during October, get $20 back

Between Okami, JSR, and all the PSX and PSP games I still need to pick up, I should hit this easily. Pretty sweet promotion.

I haven't bought LBPVita yet but I've been meaning to. If I get that and Plus I'm already at about $90... Also JSRF hits Vita in October, was definately getting that...

This needs to include PS+.

PS+
Okami HD
Marvel vs Capcom Origins
Siren

I've never spent so much on any DD console service at one time. I'm so in there if they include PS+.

Do this deal include all purchase on PSN such as PSX ,PSP and Vita games?
I just got Vita so I interest in those.

If your Vita is associated with a US PSN account, then during the month of October if you spend $100 on US PSN content/games you would get a code for $20.

i can get better deals on two new releases easily than this anyway (save more than $20 like from newegg etc, as well as not having to pay 8.25% sales tax which alone almost makes the difference). fail.

You guys should also keep in mind that October is usually the month stores have Buy 2 Get 1 Free deals on games the past few years. If you're trying to get the cheapest value at least.

also that.

there are a LOT of things on PSN you can't get at retail...

So, anyone know if this spend 100 deal starts at Midnight, or does one have to wait to a specific time? Is it mentioned in the email?

I just got a "George Foreman Grill attachment" for my Vita recently, and I was looking to catch up on a few PSN games I never had a chance to play until getting said grill.

Alongside getting Once Piece, probably Dokuro, and a few PSN downloads (Tokyo Jungle, Malicious), I don't think I'll have an issue finding enough stuff to get... not to mention a game or 2 off Playstation mobile, or some PS1 downloads...

So, err... 2 people answer the question after mine, yet no one answers mine? (T_T)
In the US, BTW. I didn't get an email about it, so I don't have any fine print to reference, and the only place I see the deal mentioned is on PSNSTORES... not even in the PS Blog or Forum areas...

So does this thing stack? If I spend $200, I get back $40?

I really really wish it would and really really doubt it will

probably safest to wait for an announcement

Yeah, probably. I was hoping someone could check the fine print in the official E-Mail, as this kind of thing is usually listed. But for all we know, Sony wouldn't start it until The PSN Update on Tuesday... *shrug*

Thanks!

I don't think there is any fine print. The text I saw kassatsu post previously is all there is. No other details at this time...

In short, wait for something more official than a pre-announcement.

Damnit, wish I knew about this before I bought Tokyo Jungle. Could have put that towards it.

Hmmm might be a perfect time to renew my PS+ with Vita+ on the way

Pre-announcement... bleh. It's Oct 1st, it should be fully-announced when the month starts... but as a Vita owner, I guess I'm fully used to Sony taking it's sweet time to do things, haha.

But thanks for confirming there wasn't any extra info in the email. Ahh well. You'd think they define such a thing, to keep from the possible issue of people buying too early, and flooding customer service with complaints and refund request...

Hmm... So does spending money you put in your wallet from the PSN cards count? Sam's Club is currently selling the $50 PSN cards for $46.

US PSN BLOG Update:

It’s officially October, and we have a great new promotion for you to get the most out of your PlayStation gaming experience this month. If you spend $100 or more on the PlayStation Store in October, we’ll give you a $20 credit to your wallet to spend in November! This is a store-wide promotion, so anything you purchase using your wallet will count towards the $100 total. One caveat: the credit back is limited to the first $100 you spend.

With great new programs like PSN Day 1 Digital, offering day-and-date digital PS3 games on the same day they hit retail, there are plenty of ways to participate in the “Buy $100, Get $20” promotion. As a reminder, PlayStation Plus members receive an additional 10% discount on a number of titles in the line-up when they pre-order. Additionally, if you’ve already pre-ordered one of the awesome titles in the PSN Day 1 Digital program, the money you’ve spent on those will count toward your $100 for October. Not bad, eh?

Since the promotion includes anything purchased with your wallet on the PlayStation Store, there are many ways to put purchases towards receiving a $20 credit. You can grab a PlayStation Plus 1-year subscription, or sign up for DIRECTV NFL Sunday Ticket. You can even hop into the video store and catch up on any new releases you may have missed!

With the month of October so packed with scorching-hot game releases, you’ll definitely want to look out for titles like Resident Evil 6, Dishonored, Assassin’s Creed III, The Walking Dead: Episode 4, Assassin’s Creed: Liberation, Street Fighter x Tekken on PS Vita and plenty of others.

Here’s to the start of a great month of gaming on PlayStation Network. Let us know in the comments what you’ll be downloading on PSN in October to count towards a $20 credit. Game on!

So buying a PSN+ Card at retail and subscribing probably wouldn't work. But buying it directly from the store does. However, buying PSN Cards, and using the value added to your wallet, and buying stuff, 100% works.

OP should have this image in it.

Might have to participate:

PS+ $49.99
One Piece US $49.99 (already imported a EU copy)
Another FF Avatar $0.50 (never changing off Terra though)

Can you just extend PS+ for like 2 years?

Yep. My current subscription (that I started earlier this year) lasts until March of 2014.

Anyway, just bought Final Fantasy III PSP. So, that's $20 right there. RE6, Sonic Adventure 2, and NiGHTS HD should put me over the edge.

well I'm already almost halfway there >_< just bought

Ratchet & Clank Collection
La Pucelle Tactics
Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life Special Edition

came to $49.97

So this is for anything on PSN...anything at all?

Like if I bought another year of PS Plus, LBP Vita, and something else to go over 100, Id be all set?

I'll renew plus since it's coming to the Vita in November. Then I'll get NLKS and a PS One game or two. Maybe Jet Set Radio and Retro City Rampage if it's out this month.

So wish I got this email before buying Tokyo Jungle last Tuesday... Still pretty sure I can hit the $100 mark though with New Little King's Story and Okami to start. Maybe Hell Yeah! and some other DLC or PS1 games to round out the $100.

I might actually take the bait, since there's plenty of cheap games I was holding on. I'm thinking a couple of PSOne classics + some PSN exclusives (Okami HD) and PSP/Vita games like FF III. If nothing else, I could spend on some DLC like the upcoming content for Dark souls.

It's not hard to reach the 100$ if you are the type to wait for deal or big discount since you probably watch and observe what you want instead of doing the impulse buy. :P Ton of stuff I could of bought already, but I keep waiting for the right deal and now might be the time (although I will wait and see each week of October for given discount before buying) .

Bought another year of PS+, Escape Plan, and LBP Vita for $100.97 total so I should be good for this deal. Ive been wanting those two games for a bit now so Im happy
