Using a Sony PSOne LCD screen with other systems?

Our PSOne bundle came in the mail today, and there's an AV IN jack on the back of the screen, but the manual only mentions hooking camcorders and shit up to it. I'm assuming it's possible to hook other systems up to it, but obviously I need some kind of adapter. Anybody know what I'm talking about or what adapter I need? The terms I'm googling are too vague and aren't very helpful.

I picked one up a few months ago as well, and would be curious if it is indeed possible to hook up other devices to the LCD.

Some have definitely hacked analog RGB (interlaced NTSC scan rate) into it, but I don't have a URL handy.

I think it's the exact same display that drives the Treamcast, just in a different case.

Yep. If you go to radio shack, they have the cable you need. Basically, it's called a camcorder to mini-plug cable, or something like that. On one end are yellow, red, and white RCA plugs for composite video-in and stereo audio-in. On the other end is a standard headphone jack. The cable I bought only had male connectors on all sides, so I had to buy a male-to-female converter for another $5 or so.

I sometimes hook my Dreamcast up to it - hehe. It looks great, actually. The screen automatically turns on when it detects a signal, so you don't have to even turn on the PlayStation part.

Edit: Here are a couple Radio Shack links for cables that should work

What about CLASSIC systems? I've got my PS2, GCN, and X360 connected via component inputs... but what about my N64, SNES, Genny, etc?

So long as you connect a composite output to it, it'll display just fine. In fact, the older, the better. The PSOne LCD doesn't have the greatest rez, but it is no slouch either. I play Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves through the LCD with the DC hooked up and it looks niiice. I've also hooked up a couple of those Radica Genesis TV games and they looked about as crisp as Genesis can look.

I'll stop by a Radioshack tomorrow, I think. Thanks a bunch. My apt just isn't big enough to support a 2nd TV for retro gaming. This might also finally speed up my decision to get an HDTV... :D
