From the ebgames.com listing:
Define your turf. Design your own custom racing routes through the streets of four perfectly recreated world-class cities - New York, London, Tokyo and Las Vegas - to create thousands of possible tracks. Build circuits or point-to-point races. Then challenge others (online or off) to race on your turf.

Note: There are actually five cities in PGR3, so this may not be entirely accurate

I'm not sure how interesting vegas would be. Outside of the strip it is pretty dull

Hu ho. Can't say I'm that happy to get yet another city with lots of 90 degrees turns.
I'm gonna miss Edimburgh that's for sure.

someone here already pointed out that there were "mirage" or "mgm grand" banners along one of the tracks in an already released PGR3 shot. GAF +1

I want more European cities damnit!
As other would say... QFT. Las Vegas is certainly a pretty city to race in, but american cities are usually very boring (IMHO of course) because they are flat and lack variety. San Francisco and New York would be exceptions I guess.

Fun racing is all about elevation changes.

Vegas=flat=no fun

The strip will probably look gorgeous though, especially at night.

In somewhat related news, BC says that if we look hard enough we can figure out all 5 cities.

No idea where all the other rumours come from though, although the educated could probably figure out all 5 locations if they looked hard enough. There is enough information out there to deduce them all...

So get cracking GAF detectives.

You lightweights. :)

I can't believe there's so much Chicago hate. Chitown was fun because it was challenging. I have to agree on more European tracks though. I'm not interested in Vegas.

That sucks cause the american cities in MSR/PGR have been by far the most boring ones.

I`m pretty sick of all the city racing tho and hoped that they would do something else with PGR3. The only thing I liked about PGR2 was the Nurburgring track.

Florance? I think and Edinbrough were th best cities in PGR 2. Man im going to miss them

Russa, Chicago and Washington sucked

your fucking crazy. DC was THE BEST stage for racing. looks wise, yeah, its kinda plain IMO, but the tracks in it were second to none.

that said, if Bizarre says we could deduce all 5 cities... it must be london, new york, tokyo, vegas, rome.

Yeah, Capitol Thrill was one of my favorite PGR2 tracks.

Haven't you played GTA San Andreas?

Nope. I borrowed GTA3 for a week and found it unpolished, but it was very amusing and fresh at the time so I enjoyed it. I bought Vice City when it launched, and after the novelty of the cutscenes and soundtrack wore off I realized the game and it's cramped overworld sucked. I was working full time when San Andreas came out, plus now being more of a casual/retro gamer I didn't want to bother. I swear, GTA is big now, but tons of people will be hating on it in a few years. Just like Tomb Raider and Mortal Kombat.

That being said, messing around on the strip, walking through all the hotels, etc. on a PS3/X360 powered GTA would be a cool experience. :)

the tour (or turtle-doing-push-ups as the cool kids called it, player1 excluded) is top dawg.

I guess we have a lot of Europeans on GAF. I always forget this.

But since the Xbox and X360 were designed with the American market in mind first and foremost, and more or less intentionally ignored Japanese interests, I think it stands to reason that Microsoft is also more interested in tailoring its games more to American gamers than anyone else. The fact the Xbox and its games are also enjoyed by Europeans doesn't seem to be because Microsoft has done some excellent job of tailoring the system and its games to European countries, as the differences in interests between the countries is less pronounced. For that reason, I don't think it's ridiculous to think that Microsoft is more concerned with PGR3 being the must-own street racing game for American gamers than it is with appeasing European gamers. And I doubt that a majority of American gamers think "yeah EUROPE" when they think of trendy street racing.

As for the actual gameplay consideration of right turns and whatnot, I agree with you that a European city like you mentioned should be thrown in for variety.

What makes you so certain of this?

Ooooo yeah, that track was pretty hardcore. It took me quite a while to get down some of those corners.

I'm a cornfed Amarrri-cunn boy and I'd still like to see more of the European tracks. I enjoy "seeing" different and unique environments. Can't get enough Florence and Barcelona love myself.

Shit, who am I kidding I loved all of the tracks. :)

Haha, I liked the "seeing" in quotes. Sometimes I feel like modern gamers equate to real life experiences.

After playing Shenmue and then seeing the real life Yokosuka... I think it's nearing the time you can effectively remove the quotes without fear of ridicule.

And yeah, I agree. They're all good.

Frankly I couldn't care less what the stupid cities look like, I just want interesting tracks. That means not too many right angles, which means not too many US cities. Fuck it, just get Brands Hatch and put the Statue of Liberty at the side of the road :)

Capitol was a great track. Lots of nice changes in elevation, varying radius corners. Lush.
Chicago was all right angles, dark underpasses, sudden crash barriers right in front of you. Shit

Las Vegas? That sounds adventurous :lol

*go forward on the strip*
*still going forward on the strip*
*race over*

OMG, Wher is Barcelona???

Whats happening T_T

One of the Florence tracks is my favourite from PGR2. The track with the difficult turn before start/finish, PGR2 players will know the one.

I actually went to Florence this summer and have a picture of that turn in real life. Florence is actually a lot more crowded than the game makes you believe.

theres more to vegas than the strip. theres downtown/old vegas, theres the streets BEHIND the strip that the monorail goes over, theres the airport and convention center areas and theres a pretty nice chunk of freeway system that can be used quite well if done right.

Heh, I assume this is a funny name for Nurburgring. I call it Furburgering, or like the great 80's actor of police academy fame. the Gutenberguring.

Yeah, I called it that sometimes. "Hey guys, lets go to the Furburgering."

Their response was, "wuhh?" :lol
