Verizon DSL account activation question

Alright, so I moved February 13th, and had my new phone line from Verizon installed on February 17th. I ordered DSL, which had an activation date of March 3rd, which I found ridiculous, but there was apparently nothing I could do about it.

Today, I setup my new computer desk and hooked the computer itself up, including the DSL modem. Upon doing this, I noticed the DSL ready light was active.

So, I called Verizon DSL to ask if my DSL was actually ready or not. Apparently the line was, but the account hadn't been created yet on their end, and I'd have to wait until March 3rd, though potentially sooner.

Annoyed, I ignored the CSR and just installed the software CD, and created an account, with a new Verizon username/password, and I'm online now.

Apparently, I was going to get a call from Verizon once my DSL was active, which hasn't happened yet (March 3rd), and it was from that day that I'd be getting billed.

My questions are:

1) With me having created an account successfully tonight, will they bill me from tonight?
2) With me having created an account successfully tonight, will that somehow mess up the actual March 3rd activation date? i.e. March 3rd rolls around and they realize I have an account created, and they have to suspend it to fix something?
3) Are the Verizon DSL CSR's just retarded?

1) yes
2)No, I did the same thing. You might see a slight connection speed boost after the date though, like I did.
3) Yes.

BTW: If you have a versalink gateway, chuck that bitch immediately and get a real DSL modem if you do not want to experience ALLL the fucking problems this peice of shit features. You've been warned.

Yes, it's a VersaLink gateway. What kind of problems are you talking about though?

I still have the old white Westell that says Bell Atlantic on it from 1998. Maybe I should just use that. The antenna on this modem doesn't seem safe to me at all.
