Very Dissapointed with Otogi

I have been playing all the games that i missed this past year. So far Otogi is really dissapointing. The game itself is good but the camera angle ruins the gameplay. Just finished Kotor, starting kotor II tommorrow.

I can't get pass the fucking boat level. It's fucking impossible :(

Is that the one where the blobs come onto your boat? I think using a strong attack pushesthem, so you can knock them off, instead of killing them. (Unless Im thinking of a totally different game :lol )

"NONE SHALL PASS" is what got me to switch the voices to Japanese. Otogi is a very weird game overall. I hated it for the first several hours, but forced myself to finish it for a review and gradually got to like it more.

Otogi = DMC done wrong.

I <3 Otogi, 1 and 2. The camera can be irritating, but I acclimated after a few levels. Besides...

Flying_tree_stump. Playable Character. Greatness.

I hated it for several hours and stopped playing. I guess If I stuck with it, I too would of learned to appreciate it, but I didn't care to force myself to play one game when I have piles of unfinished games at my disposal.

*shrugs*

I took from Otogi the same impression I had of Dynasty Warriors. It's extremely repetitive and dull. I haven't played the sequel, but I imagine it isn't any better.

Yeah, your time would probably be better spent elsewhere. I found that it's one of those games that's only enjoyable when you play it the "right" way.

man, otogi sucks. seriously. really really dull. pretty though.

NONE SHALL PASS!

Both Otogi games have so much damn class and style they just can't be hated on. I mean, you can dislike the gameplay, because it just doesn't mesh with you, but actually hating on the game is just unfair. I got 100% in the first Otogi and am currently making my way through the sequel which is even better.

I still don't understand at all what people have against the camera, I think I've had one problem with it in my 40+ hours of playing both games. And even then it just takes a quick second to adjust.

Oh god. NONE SHALL PASS. That's all I heard everytime I was on the shitter for like a week. My brother wouldn't give up on that fucking boss and it was next to his room.

the really funny part about the whole "NONE SHALL PASS!" bit for me is, my first experience with the game was on a friends modded xbox with the japanese one. something must have been screwy with the rip or something though, cause literally every voice in the game was at double speed. so, not only did i hear the "NONE SHALL PASS!" even more often then most (literally every other second or so), but it sounded like a pissed off chipmunk! :lol

Aerial combat, once I got the hang of it, was one of my favorite aspects of the game. You could stay up in the air almost indefinitely if you wanted.

I agree, Otogi was a very disappointing game for me. Not only the camera, but the slowly depleting magic/health constraint was a big pain in the ass. I wanted to explore some of the levels, not be forced to constantly kill critters all the time.

Damn straight, nicely put.

I think most people don't understand that you aren't really meant to see the entirety of the levels on the first pass. Power up your magic/health gauges, then go back through. Yes, that means replaying levels, but that's part of the game mechanic.
