They come directly from store ads. Ads sometimes advertise games at full price. That is why they are there.

I was about to say that there is no barebones version, but a trip to Amazon shows that there's a widescreen special edition and a pan-and-scan barebones. That's probably the one on sale, but it's worth taking a look anyway.
