Video game shirts are cool to wear

I was sitting at home without any soda, orange juice or milk to drink and no cups to drink water in so I decided to run down the road to the grocery store. I was going through checkout and the girl working the register said she liked my shirt. It was the green 1 UP shirt from Hot Topic - yes, I'm a nerd. She even hummed the theme song.

So these shirts do sometimes create conversations. Mine was with a female which is admittedly, a minus but it works. Wear your video game paraphanelia with pride.

Except comic shirts. Those are just geeky.

Maybe where you live, sure.
Here in California they're still nerd attire, no matter where you buy them from.......

So I was in a bar, wearing a Pac-Man shirt. Some drunk dudes came over, and started to try the name the ghosts with their girlfriends watching. It was awkward...

I got out of a speeding ticket once because I had my Robotech dogtag (from the robotech collectors edition game I got for $9.99) hung up on my review mirror, and the cop thought I was military. lol

When I was taking my last Final for my morning class last month, I got complimented by two people for wearing my Tekken 4 shirt.

The only videogame related clothing I have is a T-Shirt I got with my GBA. (Features Mario in Andy Warhol style.)

My 'significant other' tried to claim it as a sleeping T-shirt, the dawning horror of having to "get it on" with her wearing *that* was enough for me to make more productive use of it, as a duster in my car :p

Freeburn.

Usually in game shirt threads people are saying how lame people are that wear these sorts of shirts. I never understood why so many people are that insecure over this sort of thing. That or people complain that it's "trendy".

I only have one game shirt, but I get a lot of positive comments on it. People like these things... Especially with these old Nintendo pixel shirts. It's funny how many girls recognize these characters and say something to you about it.

I used to be big into the wearing weird T-shirts. Any T-shirt that causes interest or conversation is cool in my book.

I hate how the 1UP shirt is so friggin popular now.
I only have this shirt:

And a few wristbands (Mario, Zelda, Nintendo logo).

I would probably wear that if not for the boring coloring scheme. I need some more color lol

Uhmmm, what? A girl strikes up a conversation with you and it's a minus point?

I don't mean to alarm you but you have dogs on your face
The other day I saw some fat nerd wearing a game t-shirt I didn't quite get. It had a picture of Link, with text that said "Don't make me get Zelda on yo ass" or some stupid shit. I was thinking WTF, you nerd, Zelda's the PRINCESS. Good thing I didn't say that out loud, though, or else I would have looked like an even bigger nerd.

Yeah, seriously. I own a couple of these shirts, mostly because people gave them to me for X-mas. :p In a way, I want to like them, but in another way I find them somewhat shameful. Hell, I don't mind being a nerd, but when 75% of these people wearing these shirts stopped playing video games when they were 8 (or rather are too young to even be considered old school.....) it kind of loses its appeal. Its kind of sad to see someone run around with oh, say, that "Konw your roots" shirt when you can tell they've probably never played any other game than Mario and Duck Hunt.

Yeah, its kind of nerdy to say so, but its also a sort of degredation of the hobby. However, the shirts, ironically, DO get a lot of compliments and sometimes from females, so go figure.

I'd personally feel more comfortable wearing the more obscure stuff so I can be stylish AND keep my nerd-dom intact. ;)

I'll never understand why people allow themselves to care. If you're scared to wear a gaming shirt just because someone might think you're a nerd, you're a pussy. Sure you aren't wearing a shirt proclaiming your vaginahood, but you're one regardless. Why be ashamed of what you're into? If you just don't like them, fine. But fearing that you won't be cool anymore is what's wrong with maintream people to begin with. Trend trend trend trend, must look like everyone else!

I walked into a skate shop with a friend of mine and a dude that worked in there became my new best friend and talked to me a bit about my t-shirt.

Um, I live in California and my videogame shirts get me comments and compliments all the time. Mostly from girls even. They get me more conversation and attention than any of my other attire. Chicks love Link. Two nights ago, I wore my Metroid shirt to a concert and the singer told me it rocked.

I have that shirt and it's just referencing the game, not the character. Same as if it was some shirt with a fireball and it said "Don't make me go Street Fighter on you".

I actually find a lot of penny-arcade comics unfunny (more so now than in the past) but fruit fucker has a special place in my heart

Yay another game shirt thread! Time to brag about my own :p

I'm too lazy to fetch the link for the pic though. My shirt doesn't have any slogan or anything like that on it. It's just a regular t-shirt that says Nintendo across the chest with the classic logo in red. Collar/cuffs are also red.

I think shirts with slogans are cool, like they're really in now especially, but I could never bring myself to wear one. I'd feel like I'm advertising for someone, eh. Then again, a shirt with a big fat Nintendo logo is advertising too ^_^

But yeah, I get lots of compliments on it. It's the kind of shirt anyone could wear, gamer or not. I don't think that would go for those slogan shirts.
