Viewing Hotmail on a PlanetWeb browser? (Dreamcast)

So, with my computer being dead and all right now, possibly due to the motherboard dying, I'm browsing on my Dreamcast with BBA and PlanetWeb 3.0. (this is shit, BTW)

Hotmail won't let me log in, and that's really the only thing I wanted to do with this temporary setup.

Are there any workaround, or links to "PDA versions" of Hotmail that this piece of shit browser might support?

I am not really familiar with the PlanetWeb browser. Do most sites come up on the Dreamcast? Can you pull up Amazon.com, for example?
 
:lol :lol :lol For some reason, I'm reminded of the guys who got Linux to run on GameCube.

Sucks about your motherboard, but seriously...go to the library or something. Especially if you just want to get into Hotmail.
 
I remember when my PC was dead, I used my DC for mail for like half a year :lol (before I had a laptop).

That was some time ago (1999) though, before Hotmail's site redesign, so everything worked perfect back then.
 
Y'know I thought I was able to check my hotmail with it...but perhaps one of hotmail's upgrades stopped that.

It supports SSL, and even has a retarded ass Planetweb version of JAVA called "PJAVA." (along with Flash 3 or something)

Anyway, I guess I give up. This fucking thing has frozen twice in an hour so far. Piece of shit computer suddenly dying.
 
PlanetWeb 3.0 is the WORST Dreamcast browser there is - dispite being the most feature-rich (it's got a 'lite' version of Java called pJava) .... this browser fucking sucks. it is ALWAYS locking up, and fucking up.....


last time I tried Hotmail on Dreamcast, it was impossible to get in because Microsoft has changed Hotmail to the point where it is no longer possible to use it with Dreamcast browsers.


Yahoo mail still worked once you select to use the old version.


Gmail worked too.




man I really hope PlayStation3 comes with a good browser.

It used to lol. when PlanetWeb 3.0 browser came out in fall 2001, it was only avaliable through Amazon and I used my Dreamcast with Planetweb 2.0 to place my order for 3.0 :lol :lol :lol

they have a login for Hotmail there, but when I tried it months ago - it did not work. maybe you will have better luck.....doubt it though :/
 
Back before I had a pc in 2000-2001, I used the DC for my internet needs. Sure, I could not download anything or play mp3's (reasonably) but it did the job. I could post on message boards, and well, I played the hell and I mean the LIVING HELL out of PSO. (I basically used that as my chat tool for 2001-early 2002.)

As in regards to hotmail, I used to be able to use my DC for it, but sometime in 2001, MS upgraded it and made it useless to me. (I signed up for HM on my DC back in Feb. 2000.)

I just switched to Yahoo instead.

I kinda miss systems having browsers. Sure, they are vastly inferior, but it is still a nice alternative for situations like the topic creators' here. I was dissapointed that the PS2 had nothing like the DC. To my knowledge, anyway.

I found something called Hail - it's a Hotmail client for Dreamcast

update: sadly, it does not seem to work - PW3.0 lets me login, using Hail, but there is no godamn functionality - buttens wont work - cant see anything. sorry Goodcow.


just tried Gmail, it works beautifully on DC PW3.0

This reminds me of that time when I was could use my computer for 3 months and secretly used my Dreamcast to browse the internet until I had to pay a 200 dollar phone bill. :lol
