...savior?

... You know, I was reading teh GMR preview tonight at work, and I thought ...

"Maybe I will give this a try..."

END.

I guess making the game crappy wasn't enough for sega, they had to make the boxart crappy as well. Bad sega, BAD!

That's some horrible boxart but at least they didn't try to mislead the public by including VF characters on it! :lol

WTF happened to Sega? Their DC shit was so tight and when they went third party I've seen a lot of mediocre games from them. It's almost as if part of their soul and desire was lost when they left the hardware game and went software only.

it's always fun to see Sega ruin their franchises one by one. :lol

Not really surprised by this, we all know sex sells.

See, there used to be this company called Sega, and they made really kick ass games...

What's that, kids? Don't believe me? Yeah, well I almost don't either. Oh, how the slightly above competent have fallen.

This boxart is appropriate given the target demographic. Replace the guy with Goku or some other DBZ character and it'd be "awesome!!". That's the effect they're presumably trying to achieve/rip off.

I like this boxart and Sega's desicion on making it this way. They are being open and honest about the quality of their game and decided to give consumers fair warning about it with an appropriatly shitty boxart.

If you altered the title and left out any recognizeable character art...

you might have created a shitty spinoff.

What kind of game is this exactly? At one point it was an RPG spin-off of the Virtua Fighter series, right?

I think the game is an action rpg. It coming out for both Gamecube and PS2, what did Game Imformer say about this game? I know they didn't like it. Did they complain that it was too kiddie like Paper Mario 2? Was that the reason for the bad score, or does the game just plan sucks?

The Japanese box art is false advertising, makes it look like it might be a cool game. At least the North American box shows how terrible the art is in the actual game :D

Cool? Between the goofy expression on Akira's face, the equally goofy gape-mouthed smile on the girl in the background, and the giant statue of what looks like a little girl with a semi-transparent dress in an upskirt pose towering over the city ('Welcome to Pedotropolis!'), I really didn't see much that was cool about the Japanese cover.

Well, aside from the logo. The logo was a definite improvement over the North American one, I'll give you that.

Thank you.

Well, at least they've realised it's a dodgy concept and gotten rid of any relevance to the Virtua Fighter name, although that was basically what was going to sell the game.

Both covers look horrible and unless there's a hidden sex scene with Aoi in this game I won't bother.

First images of VF5, gimme now!

Having the anime main character on the US boxart would sorta help out, since I like it better than the 3d pile of garbage.

I like the logo. It's very Sega. Frankly I don't see what you people find so objectionable about this boxart. Sure, it's derivative, but nowhere near as bad as some of the really horrible boxart out there.

this is the reason i dont want Nintendo to go 3rd party. Sega was amazing...once!

Poor poor AM2. Three years of labor for this P.O.S?
You mean outsourced labor to China? They hired Tose Software to make it. :/

I still think the game doesn't look that bad though... might give it a rental. Could be a fun little ARPG, it's giving me a bit of a Megaman Legends vibe.

You know what this game needs to be more attractive?

I think the Japanese box art looks cool. I wish they used the Japanese box art for the box art in the US. By the way were is the PS2 box art for Virtua Quest?
