Vita PSN Game And Service Thread

Haven't been hearing much about KZ lately. I hope it's coming along alright and will be released sometime in 2013.

I'm new to this whole Vitabro business, but what games DO we hear a lot about prior to release? I mean, Sonic Racing is going to be released with zero marketing from SEGA. It's astonishing.

Beat UC:GA a couple hours ago and wow that was good. Really set the standard for the scope and performance I'll be expecting of future games.
It's against the law to post about completing this game without moaning about the final boss. Police have been despatched to your location.

Aside from the trailer several months ago, I've seen nothing about KZ. I'm guessing that means it's not even remotely close to release as it's an obvious system seller and should be promoted as such.

Haha ya I didn't really care either way about it. Only thing that annoyed me was no mid fight checkpoint as I fucked up at the very end and had to redo it all again. The content of the fight itself was, as just said by toto, expected.

Not really. There have been many games that were announced less than a year before release (Killzone 3 springs to mind actually). It's only been 4 months since it was announced. But I would DEFINITELY love to hear some more info on it.

You buy the Playstation 3 version from the store and then you will be able to download the vita version from your download history without paying anything extra and no there are no restrictions.

bloody amazing. are there many other games that offer this feature?

Sonic Racing isn't 60fps on any console/handheld. Only possible on PC lol

bloody amazing. are there many other games that offer this feature?

The entire list is this so far:
Big Sky Infinity
Dragon Fantasy: Book II
Foosball 2012
Hustle Kings
MotorStorm RC
Retro City Rampage
Sound Shapes
The Pinball Arcade
When Vikings Attack
Zen Pinball 2

There's also retail titles that have Cross Buy (and have Cross Buy with their PSN release):
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault / Q-Force
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time
Warrior's Lair

PSP Minis, and PSone Classics work on PS3, PSP, and Vita with a single purchase as well. There's some Vita/PS3 games that share DLC purchases but eh, not work digging that all up, lol.

Wipeout HD/Fury DLC (if you have Wipeout 2048 and HD/Fury on PS3).

Native resolution, 30 with predictable dips in certain track segments.

Some tracks are below 30 throughout as well - eg skies of arcadia/super monkey ball (also has a bad section like samba). Others feel reasonably solid, but not quite. Few are fine.

If you are sensitive to it, it will bother you to some degree. It's basically what I thought before I bought it. Luckily the game itself is fun and you can still enjoy it even if you're a stickler for fps like me.

Flying is really fun - like skydrift basically. Also use the default controls not the alternative like I said earlier - R trigger for acceleration, otherwise stunts are hard to do.

It's just strange (and disappointing) how some tracks which appear to have more going on and look better don't lag, and some meh ones lag (pretty bad-depending on how much you can tell). 90% of the time it is fine (not superb by any means, but not really too much of an issue)..the other times.. -_-

About 15% of the time it is solid 30 (most of the time a few frames under) - I expected better.

Cross-play though at least - hoping for a christmas price drop.. was going to buy SMB but don't want to give sega more money till they fix the vita version. :P

sooo how are people liking sonic all stars on vita? i don't have the game on ps3 (or any other system) but i thought it might be decent on vita. are those games really good? i'm certianly not starved for games in my backlog, but if it is a solid 8 with good online, i might bite. can you play with ps3 players?

Oh ok, i think what i am missing is the checking of the different games in content manager, wasnt aware you could do that so thanks for the help :)

As much as i love PS+ on Vita, the only thing i would add is being able to choose what time it updates ect, you can do taht on PS3 so hopefully they will add that at some point.

One last question, does it only update the saves that have been accessed since the last time it auto uploaded them or does it just do all of them each time?

Just the modified ones... I should have Sine Mora, ToMB, and GR updated today when I check here in a moment to answer the next question.

Bingooooo!!!!!!!

Profit!

Mostly the £5 spend that Sony imposes. I don't like having extra money in the wallet that I didn't want to spend. Of course I will use any remainder somewhere down the line, but it just puts me off a bit. I was looking on the store earlier and thinking 'no, there's nothing that I want to justify spending even more money.'. I might wait for a better deal in the '12 deals of Christmas' thing.

I learned to get over that after I decided against giving Sony a credit card to have on file ever again. Now I actually welcome a balance because if something comes out and I want it, I can just purchase it. At some point earlier this year (the spend $100 sale) I ended up with $120+ on my account... it wasn't for long, now I'm down to around $11 and will probably purchase a $20 or $50 card soon; the #1 reason I find it best to carry a balance in my wallet these days is because every once in awhile you end up in a spot where GS, Best Buy, and Amazon are not selling instant codes and you have to go looking for a physical one. I hate that. I had that happen when I was out of town and wanted to buy SunFlowers and potentially RCR.

Sound Shapes
Motorstorm RC
PSABR

I'm sure there are more than that, mental block.

Adding to the list of stuff that gets you crossbuy usage:

Zen Pinball 2 tables
Capcom DLC for SFxT or UMvC3
Arcsys DLC for BBCSE
WipEout Fury/HD on PS3 gives you the DLC for WipEout 2048
When Vikings Attack

Recommend some non-obvious titles please. Already have the usual suspects.

Got: Rayman, Lumines, Mutant Blobs, SSD, FFT, Uncharted, Ys 7, Dexter, P3P, Ys: Oath, Motorstorm, Half-min Hero, Trails, Hot Shots, Silver Star, Disgaea, Gravity Rush, Jet Set, WipEout. Will be getting P4G (eventually). Not interested in an FPS or fighting games; except for Unit 13, which I might get down the line.

Would like something like Little King's but I hear the framerate makes it unplayable? AC:L would also be good but I hear it's buggy? How's NFS:MW? Played the demo for Virtue's Last Stand, liked the puzzles but don't think I am in the mood for a puzzle game atm.

Do you have LittleBigPlanet Vita? Many people say that game is great and probably the best LBP. I have it, but haven't found much time to play. ):

Zettai Hero Project (when it goes on sale).

No LBP?

hnnnngh

Man I wish Nintendo would expand Mario Kart's tracks beyond the Mario/DK universe. Getting kinda bored of MK lately, but a "Nintendo Kart" would be wondrous.

The tracks are really something here, like I have a huge smile seeing the stages and awesome music...but the framerate just turns the smile upside down and I'd prefer to be playing MK. It's playable and acceptable for most people (I bet) most of the time. But it's not nice and smooth. Skies doesn't have any major drops like samba or smb but it is just constantly a tad jittery (not just from the bumpy road :P) - 25-30 ish.

There are some really fun and occasionally problem-free tracks and events though. The game itself is still good but I know there are other fps sticklers out there who deserve to know.

How were the PSN Christmas sales last year? For example, about how many titles were discounted and how much were they discounted by? I'm trying to decide if I should stock up on PSN credit.

For Vita get VT4.

For PSP get Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure (if you like 3D Zelda games you will love this)

Will be getting P4G (eventually)

eventually?? wat?...get this game NOW.

How's NFS:MW

Very good port actually, it lack Burnout Paradise amazing car handling but you will get used to it.

Little King's but I hear the framerate makes it unplayable

unplayable? not really.

Thanks for the impressions, Skyzard. I'm keeping my preorder but your words do make me sad.

Thanks everyone.

ZHP is a good recco. Is it expected to go on sale on the US PSN?

As for LBP: pretty sure it will be part of Plus soon. I've heard good things about the PSV outing but didn't enjoy the PS3 games, so I will prefer to try it out under Plus.

Tried the Ragnarok demo, didn't click with me.

What about NFS:MW? Anyone tried it here? Any good? Wish it had a demo...

^ NFS:MW is a buy. It does drop in framerate at the highest speeds in races but it is a very well made game despite that and performs well imo - definite buy if you like racing at all (imo best handheld racer ever). Especially if you like driving around in the open world with nice, fast cars :) £40 buy, no issues. Don't add more than 10-15 or so friends to the list for now though otherwise there is a slight freeze when pulling up their info before speed cameras and billboards (while driving).

Despite the slowdowns I can't not play it, it is a lot of fun and I wouldn't advise anyone to cancel preorders unless you are the king of fraps but...I wanted better.. Still, I'd rather have it then not and that's without a doubt. It's just disappointing to see it slow down from a sufficient fps to modnation levels (thankfully this doesn't happen too frequently at all).

Well it's 20 bucks right now at GameStop, in case that makes the risk easier to take

Maybe I'll just get it on PS3 or Wii U after all.

I guess I'm in antispin ignore list (since I already said it in the post above his),so this again might be pointless. :(

It's a complete console port, all cars and everything, identical gameplay(mean same handling and nothing got lost core-gameplay wise)but it got cutdown graphics wise with lower car models, lack of texture and less traffic and you get less cars in racing too, the game run well at 30fps with dips, it's very good port job for a handheld really.

NISA have been having a sale on select PSP titles/PS3 DLC over the past few weeks. First was Disgaea 4 DLC, then Neptunia DLC; all that's left are the PSP titles (Disgaea 1, Prinny, ClaDun X2, Z.H.P.)

Thanks but I am not in the US :)

Pfft. I bought (and played a little) Field Commander when it was $5 like two years ago, before PSRS even launched. Get on my level, Takao.

Also Ass Creed 3: Liberation won't let me pick-pocket. Is this that stupid back-touch bug people are talking about?

Also I think someone I near'd (quote to see PSN) posts here, right?
