Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | October 2013 | Ver 2000, Batman and some Angry Birds

@previous page's conversation:

I own everything for Pinball Arcade and Zen Pinball 2... I play Arcade a lot more, but I also enjoy Zen. I agree with pretty much everything BlueMaxima said... Zen's got better UI, social/leaderboard features, and a prettier engine (which really outshines on Vita), stays consistently high quality in visuals (whereas Arcade can fluctuate from table to table, and patch to patch) but sometimes it feels like I'm hitting plastic around instead of weighted metal and almost every table is a widebody. I'm not too excited about all the Marvel tables, or even the Star Wars ones, but I do like them. The tables on Arcade aren't just authentic, some of them are masterworks by creative geniuses and uber craftsmen in their field, in their prime. It's not just nostalgia that gives them appeal, it's design quality, theme, music+sound, flow and ingenuity.

To me, it's a 90's Mario&Sonic situation... why not both? I'm glad I don't have to choose and I won't. I got my Terminator 2 table the other day, and I'll get the next Star Wars packs on day 1. All I know is I've got shitloads of awesome pinball at my disposal, and it's great.

It's worth noting that about 5 of my friends play Zen a lot, but don't ever come over to score challenge on Arcade... I think the leaderboard and interface has a lot to do with that.

Did Ubisoft already add the missing content to Rayman Legends(Vita)?

I don't think so. But you'd better ask someone with the game. I bump your question.

Penguins! They've used penguins! And there is nothing as awesome and funny as penguins!

Vita is going to start beasting in 10/10 XD
___

Can you add people from other regions? Like a american with my EU account. I thought you couldn't buy i've never actually tried.

And other question, is there someone that can help my trading the 3 arcana bounties I need for Uncharted? The drop rate is awful, even in crushing, and i've read you can change your bounty with other people.

Edit:

Have someone seen a shonen jump manga about a haunted zoo? It was cancelled after 30 chapters or so, but the art style kinda remembers me that author.

Last week I got a "preview" code for Invizimals the Allience for the Vita. Played it shortly and found it underwhelming and very kids friendly.
I tried it again yesterday, and somehow I started getting trophies.. ehh this is a preview build, the download even states that.. strange.. and there doesn´t seem to be a limit on the previe stuff, I can unlock and play as much as I want. And I actually started liking the game very much, played alot and the game got way harder and more enjoyable..
But it´s strange getting a preview code with trophies..

Just bought P4G from the US PSN store. The "get $10 when you spend $50" promotion + $19.99 sale was simply too good to let it pass.

Never played a Persona game before. Not entirely sure what to expect. Downloading now...

Get past the first 5 or 6 hours. When you have 3 characters in your party. Then it gets great.

Memory card space.

Well, if that's a concern, it's probably better to go with Zen Pinball 2 since it starts out at 241 MB vs 442 MB, and doesn't inflate it's own filesize by prepping for new tables with patches that put the new content into the game whether or not you buy them. Even though Zen+everything is a larger file than Arcade+everything, you could buy or have only a few tables at a time and keep the filesize relatively small.

i've been posting here less and less ><

I wonder if Sony's going to do some sort of announcement blowout on all of these rumored games. Both this Spiderman game and the new Ratchet have been rumored to hell and back for Vita. I feel like if they're happening, there has to be an announcement coming soon.

We also still don't have a date for the GoW Collection, and have heard nothing about the Sly Collection since it was rated by the ESRB. I think they may be holding out for some big game blowout.

growlanser 4 over gungnir right??

its possible these games were put on back burner, and the majority of the teams were shifted to something with more of a priority.

I'm quite a way into Uncharted now (21 chapters) and I'm really pleased that it delivers a full proper game just like it promised.

Really good. I think the only negative is a lack of variety in environments but I can understand that compromise give the storage requirements.

Very tempted to buy a digital copy of Lumines for my new Vita, is it still worth full price or should I just wait for a sale?

It's not too late too late to put this on sale for yurop too, namco!

I've been reading around and I'm thinking it's a decent deal to go for a PS+ even if I just have a PSVita and no PS3?
I have a question about the free games once I get a subscription, will I be able to access the games that are offered up for free indefinitely, or is it only limited to the month? Can I get the games that were free prior to my subscription?
How does it work exactly, do I just go to the store on my account and download the games to my memory card? I'm mostly wondering about whether the games that are free will still be accessed after the month is over, or if I can play the games from that point forward whenever I want as long as I have a PS+ membership.

Also, The PS+ is a year long starting from the day I activate the code, right?

Yeah, I feel like something has to be coming soon, especially considering how close we are to the rumored release for a few of these games. Are there any PR or expo events coming up any time soon?

You get to play the games you get for aslong as you want provided you are subscribed. If you drop the subscription you can't play them. However, you'll be able to resume playing as soon as you resub.

You won't get access to games that were free before you got PS+.

Man dragons crown is starting to open up and make sense to me. Love it.

Paying it on ps3 felt weird, but the short nature of its levels makes it suited for vita.

VitaGAF, is Soul Sacrifice worth buying now, or should I just wait few months for the Delta version? And how possible is it to be added in the instant game collection? I think I have plenty of games to keep me busy, but P4G and Soul Sacrifice are exactly these types of games that I don't have the patience to wait too much to play them. ^^ But on other hand Delta sounds really promising... dunno what to do :(

So once games go up on the free list and you decide to download it, you essentially get to play that game for as long as you have a subscription to PS+ and it will show up on your home screen? What happens if I don't have enough room on my memory card at the time to download the game? Can I come back at a later date when the game is no longer on the free list to download and play it then?
Will games that were offered free before ever go back up on the free list?

Thanks for the answers. I think I'll go pick up a subscription soon.

Delta's Japan release is next year, I dont think we have any word on the English version yet. You probably should get SS now for mainly 3 reasons.
1. See if you like the game before buying Delta
2. You can build up your character and playstyle for Delta
3. It adds another game to play to your collection
Don't see it hitting the IG Collection anytime soon either.

Nice find. This might be the Vita game I'm most looking forward to right now, bizarrely. As long as it's open world, I'll be happy.

As far as announcements go, though, this one would probably just get a press release...unless Sony decides to finally have Vita Heaven 2, and make it North America-specific.

Man I want Gungnir, but when it was on sale here in Europe I didn't have money :'(

Also I am still waiting for a release of Knights in the Nightmare in the EU PSN.

I'm playing dragon's dogma dark arisen, and while it has many good and interesting things like myth monsters like cyclops, hydra etc, or the ability to climb enemies, or group of wolves that bite people down, or the graphics that sometimes look realistic etc i'm not really enjoying it, and frankly a mute character in a serious AAA ps3 game is a big disappointment and breaks the immersion imo, other things i don't like are the annoying voices of the allies and the fact that often is had to see an enemy.
So, while a real dragon's dogma would be a good point for vita anyway, i hope for demon's souls or fallout.

I swear if i need a microtransaction to beat the game or skip hours of grinding this game is getting deleted
It's free, so it's worth a try, i'll try dragon's dogma quest too if it comes.

Isn't weird that the manga is from right to left while the slider goes from left to right? lol

If true the release is really close, when will it be announced and shown? I hope this is not a bad sign for the quality of the port.

If it's what I think it is then yes, it's basically Spiderman: Arkham City. I have it on my PC and it runs like dogshit. So far Activision have been incredibly lazy about fixing it. On one end I want this game because I will finally be able to play it without getting a CTD every 15 minutes, but I'm concerned that it's going to run poorly. Under all of the problems though it's a pretty fun game.

So which of these three superhero inspired games has a chance to turn out decent?

1. Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate (developed along-side 3DS)
2. Lego Marvel Super Heroes (developed along-side 3DS)
3. The Amazing Spiderman (supposed port of the WiiU version)

I'm not going to get my hopes up too high for any of these, though the Batman game has some intriguing potential.

Batman is the safest bet, lego is probably a port of the castrated 3ds version and spiderman is not even announced!

If well made spiderman would be the best for me though(even if i hate spiderman, but it's an open world game).

Aren't those permanent price drops?

This was just posted on the PS Facebook page. It's a screenshot of the UI for the PS mobile application. Am I crazy for hoping the Vita UI gets a redesign to look somewhat similar?

Got myself a Vita today, along with a PSN+ subscription. I can't wait to play Gravity Rush.

Also, my avatar looks funny. I've been trying to get rid of the white border, to no avail apparently.

Go and try both games one directly after the other. The parts that are lacking in Zen become very obvious.

To you, maybe.

No?

I'm looking forward to Spider-man the most. No matter what flaws it may have had, I loved the PS3 version. I kept playing it even after I'd finished just because it was so much fun to swoop around grabbing comic book pages and doing all the challenges (and for context, I almost never keep playing games after I've finished the end of the story).

What'll turn out best, though? Probably Batman. Isn't the Vita version the lead one? And it's being developed by people who've worked on the Vita before. That should make us all hopeful, at least.
