Sebastian Gorka, President Trump’s top counter-terrorism adviser, is a formal member of a Hungarian far-right group that is listed by the U.S. State Department as having been “under the direction of the Nazi Government of Germany” during World War II, leaders of the organization have told the Forward.

The elite order, known as the Vitézi Rend, was established as a loyalist group by Admiral Miklos Horthy, who ruled Hungary as a staunch nationalist from 1920 to October 1944. A self-confessed anti-Semite, Horthy imposed restrictive Jewish laws prior to World War II and collaborated with Hitler during the conflict. His cooperation with the Nazi regime included the deportation of hundreds of thousands of Jews into Nazi hands.

Sebastian Gorka Could Face Immigration Probe Over ‘Membership’ In Nazi-Allied Group

Gorka’s membership in the organization — if these Vitézi Rend leaders are correct, and if Gorka did not disclose this when he entered the United States as an immigrant — could have implications for his immigration status. The State Department’s Foreign Affairs Manual specifies that members of the Vitézi Rend “are presumed to be inadmissible” to the country under the Immigration and Nationality Act.

Stop brown people coming in but let Nazis in(as counter terrorism advisors no less)=extreme vetting

remember me
Gorka is a huge piece of shit but is this still a Nazi organization today? I mean Volkswagen was started by the Nazis but I don't think everyone driving a beetle is one.

To me, the story is that Trump's top counter-terrorism adviser lied in order to gain access to the US, which Trump would decry a person today doing such a thing.

Members of the group are inadmissible according to the article.

Also:

Gorka — who Vitézi Rend leaders say took a lifelong oath of loyalty to their group — did not respond to multiple emails sent to his work and personal accounts, asking whether he is a member of the Vitézi Rend and, if so, whether he disclosed this on his immigration application and on his application to be naturalized as a U.S. citizen in 2012. The White House also did not respond to a request for comment.

But Bruce Einhorn, a retired immigration judge who now teaches nationality law at Pepperdine University, said of this, “His silence speaks volumes.”

I made this post a while back

By the way, people who dont know who Sebastian Gorka is, here he is wearing the Order of Vitéz medal

For those who dont know about Order of Vitéz,

The contemporary right-wing sees Horthy as a patriotic strongman who helped rebuild Hungary after the devastation of World War I, while the left views him as a shameful symbol of the country's collaboration with the Nazis, as Reuters has detailed. Horthy’s Order of Vitéz has a similarly complex legacy, as the U.S. State Department considered it an organization under Nazi control during World War II.

George Deák, an independent historian and an associate at Harvard University’s Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies, described the Order of Vitéz as a "tainted" but ambiguous symbol and cautioned to TPM that he could not say definitively that Gorka was wearing the order's medal in the photos from the Liberty Ball, one of several inaugural balls.

Deák noted that the chief architects of the 1944 mass deportation of Hungarian Jews, Secretary of State László Endre and Lt. Colonel László Ferenczy, were “proud members of the order.” He pointed out a small number of wealthy Jews allied themselves with the order as well.

“Anti-Semitism was probably something shared among most of the members of that group, but it wasn’t explicitly anti-Semitic,” he said.

Edit: Gorka responded in Breitbart by saying he was wearing the medal in remembrance of his dad. Not linking to Breitbart piece.

Editor’s Update: Gorka evidently felt compelled today to respond (via Breitbart) indirectly to our post here about his public display of a Vitezi Rend medal at an inaugural ball and on other occasions. We want to make clear that we respect his devotion to his parents and the commemoration of their experience and suffering. But we in turn are compelled to ask why his father joined a group with a known history of anti-Semitism and collaboration with the Nazis. And why does Gorka himself choose to honor his parents’ memory with a medal issued by Vitezi Rend, which apparently still propagates anti-Semitism and a degree of Holocaust denial, as described in this article published in December 2014 in the Budapest Beacon? It is in this context that Gorka’s defense of the White House’s Holocaust Remembrance Day statement – and its omission of any explicit reference to the fate of European Jews or anti-Semitism – is particularly noteworthy, not to say disturbing.

Just as we asked Gorka to comment on why he wore the Vitezi Rend medal before we published the original post, we would ask him now to explain why his father chose to accept membership in such a group and why, given its distressing historical and contemporary associations, he chooses to honor his parents’ memory in this particular and peculiar way. Eli’s original post commences below.

Vitézi Rend is the real life version of Marvel's Hydra.

It's disturbing how Trump surrounds himself with these people, not to mention goes and openly salutes and pays tribute to Andrew Jackson, who pretty much planted the seeds for the Southern Confederacy.

Pretty scary stuff.

I wonder, is Trump anti-Semitic, or is it more than his yes-men (like Bannon and Miller) are bringing these people in, and Trump just goes along with it?

Don't count on it. The same thing was reported like 2 weeks ago.

NPR has done a few interviews with him and they are all chilling. The guy is a fascist through and through.

The dude even sounds like a cartoon villain. It's scary as hell that this dude can even get within 500 feet of the white house, let alone be in the ear of the president

There will need to be major purges in the executive branch once Democrats get it back. It will be filled with fascists and Russian agents who will continue to undermine the country and the world.

I think Trump is mostly in this for the money. That's the only thing he consistently worships. He gets to make money off the presidency and take off to Florida every weekend at tax payer expense.

He does believe in eugenics and other scary shit but I think he's mostly in this for himself.

The extremists he's surrounded himself with are the ultimate danger, Trump is just the tool(as Bannon said). He gets rich, alt right extremists get their policies in place and they get to reshape the US to their liking.

Trump is OK with it but I don't think he lives and breathes it like Bannon. He sounds like a puppet when he talks about radical Islam and other issues he doesn't even know much about.

He's promoting someone's agenda, and as long he benefits he's ok in promoting it. That just seems like a Trump thing to do.

When you have Trump's biggest backer(Mercer)hanging out with Russians you get the feeling this goes beyond Trump.

I wonder, is Trump anti-Semitic

Does he treat Jewish people differently than other people or is he unable to view them simply as people instead of ethnic people? If so, yes.

Didn't he say "The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day" or am I mistaken about that?

Chapo Traphouse podcast did a hilarious spoof of Gorka in the intro to their last show. This news makes it even funnier:

Majority Report has been doing impressions of Gorka all month too. The guy makes for a good comedic character for wrapping the gamergate anti-sjw culture warrior and Trump surrogate unhinged deflector of obvious fact, into a try-hard pompous professor style of speech.

My favorite is him defending himself wearing his father's Nazi badge from this hungarian group by talking about how valiently his father fought against the Russians and completely ignoring addressing the Nazi thing altogether.

Though maybe we shouldn't be laughing when it's terrifying that he's in the white house at all. I don't know. It's just really hard to stay engaged without laughing at things like this every once in awhile.

Should be shocked, stunned, horrified but I'm not.

What a horrid state of affairs.

What is chapo trap house? Getting an early 90s BBC radio Steve Wright in the afternoon vibe

*dry-heaves*

Mate, a little warning before you drop the 'S-bomb', eh?

We don't have a concrete source for it. People claim he said it, but nothing that he can't deny.

Why do they all look like something out of a Comic Book? Especially Stone Jr, dude looks like he's going to build a huge ass mechanical spider and the only thing that can save us is Will Smith with his son.

Its because that frock is worn by members of that Vitez Rendi Nazi order.

Well, what're you gonna do? Just throw your Nazi uniform in the trash? That's wasteful. Goodwill won't take it. So you put it in a closet until there's a formal and then you break it out, I mean yeah it's a symbol of evil or whatever but it makes you look 10 pounds lighter too and it's dapper as hell.

Gorka manages something essentially unique in that he has a punchable *voice.* I genuinely didn't know it was possible to sound that obnoxious.

I absolutely fucking hate it when he's invited on NPR. It's literally the only time I scream at my radio. His voice, his smug arrogance, his caginess, everything about him screams cunt.

Gorka. Bannon. Miller. Trumps dad was in the KKK. Not looking good. I changed my voter registration from Dem to Independent just in case.

Edit: Forgot about Sessions.
