Reminds me of one time when I overheard a guy trying to convince his wife to let him rent LOTR, "But honey, it's two and a half hours of pure adrenaline rush!"

Haven't seen Battleship yet but both the others have horrible weaknesses, lol. It's like the advanced aliens didn't care to do some recon or something beforehand.

I never thought I'd go against Signs in a vote like this, but yeah it has to be Battleship

It's so bad I am reluctant to spoil it.
 
My friend gave me this verbal review for the movie:

"Battleship wasn't awesome or anything but it was way better than it had any right to be"

The acting, dialogue, and overall story were garbage. Three of the most important things in a film, and they all fell flat. It isn't a bad movie, but it's far from being a good or even decent movie.

Because it's a dumb movie filled with some horrendous dialogue, one note (and generally poorly acted) characters and a mind numbingly awful story.

Goddamn I can't believe I was convinced to see this last week.

I played Battleship as a kid. Those little pieces always would get caught in the side trenches. You'd have to close the game board and turn it on it's side so they would fall out.

Oh, and those pieces? They didn't always fit on the top of the board. They'd cram in there, precariously dangling, taunting.


Now mind you, I wasn't one of the cool rich kids that had electronic Battleship. No, I had good ole' fashioned vanilla Battleship. Drab, cheap Battleship. And nobody would ever want to play!

"Wanna play Battleship?"
"No."


Every time.


Monopoly? Sometimes. CandyLand? Always.

Never Battleship.























And it's a stupid premise for a film.

Rihanna ruined the movie for me, she's a horrible actor and for some reason (probably money) she had to be in the shot every 5 seconds and say something stupid.

Besides that it was good entertainment.
 
All these people whining as if it's the most terrible film they have seen. Yes it's a bad movie! Just like Transformers is and lots of other disaster movies I could rattle off, but, as a popcorn entertainment it mildly works. 2/5 - entertainment with a low IQ.

It's not worth seeing the movie again for, so I'll just spoil it for ya. To be clear, I'm talking about The Grey not Battleship.

We see Ottway's head laying on the alpha's side as it draws its last shuddering breath, very similar setup to the scene when he takes the wolf out at the beginning. Apparently some think it's still unclear who wins, and I think it's unclear whether or not he ultimately survives, but he definitely kills the wolf imo.
