I just realised this is what we were voting on months ago. Seems the scores never really changed. Mario, Link and Sonic inducted as Walk of Game characters. Halo inducted as a game. Halo seems a bit recent on hype to have been up for this, especially the first ever one. Ah well. Nolan Bushnell and Shigeru Miyamoto as designers who have done great service to the industry.

Happy with the results? Don't care?

The first game should have been something like Pac-Man or Space Invaders. Hell, even Pong. But Halo? Uh, no. Why don't we wait 20 years to see how it ages first.

Neither deserve it. Halo is awesome (far better than GoldenEye, even, IMO), but it just doesn't deserve to take this sort of spot this early in its life. Halo is nowhere near as influential as to be picked as the first game to be on this walk. That's just ridiculous; it makes the people who are putting this thing together look silly.

WTF @ Halo. If they wanted an FPS, Wolfenstein or Doom would've been better choices. If they wanted credibility, Pac-Man or a similar arcade/console classic would've been a better choice.

Well I agree that Halo is far better than GE, but GoldenEye when it came out was the first great fps game for consoles IMO. Both single and Multiplayer.

edit: I also agree that neither deserves it. Give it to Wolfenstein or Duke3D

Goldeneye might be a bigger landmark title than Halo, but neither deserve a spot on the walk as of now. The first games celebrated should be those that made a long lasting effect on the industry: games that not only reacted to the times but were the force behind change. Game that have maintained their immense popularity for years and years. Accolades should be reserved for the incredibly influential before titles such as Halo are even considered.

Halo has done a pretty good job of keeping idiot, fratboys off of the streets. It really should be in due to its contribution to keeping society safer.

But seriously, without the structure of XBL, Halo is just another console game. XBL should get the award, and not Halo.

Oh well .. who cares.
