Walmart Canceling Multiple Switch 2 Pre-Orders Citing "Card Issues"

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Multiple commenters stating that their NS2 orders have been canceled at Walmart

PSA For any GAFFERS who ordered from there.

They've already taken my money weeks ago.

I wish they would take mine already, Walmart is making me sweat bullets here. I had to used my debit card on the 24th. I already called the bank to confirm no shenanigans will happen with my purchase and they said so long as I'm not over a certain limit which I'm am way under for this purchase. Funds have been on my debit card since the 24th. I only got the initial phantom charge and then it was refunded.

This thing is a disaster from all sides. Just you wait until everyone begins complaining about the drift within a month, it's gonna be hot.
Disaster? The issue mostly when ordering from online, pre-ordering retail store was practically painless.

PS5 launch was way more pain in the ass even in retail.

I paid with PayPal and they pulled the money for the full amount immediately. I bought 2 from Walmart and I've kind expecting them to cancel one. That's why I have 1 at GameStop and another via Nintendo.com. The Walmart orders are still good, though. Expecting at least one of them to come through.

Gametop tried to charge at 2am. I didnt know until i was on my way to work this morning and i saw i got an email for fraud alert. I didnt really pay no mind to it, but when i opened, i saw Gamestop was trying to charge me. My heart nearly feel out my ass. I qpproved it, but I'm hoping all goes without any trouble...

That sucks for anyone affected. I vowed to never buy a new console at launch ever again, after the XSX. I don't like the stress, and am never happy with launch window libraries.

Check your target app or account, mine says preparing to ship (was pre-ordered for a while). Though the arrival date is five days after launch.

My Walmart date says by the 7th which makes me think it isn't coming at launch. Every other image I've seen, like the one in the OP, says it arrives by the 5th.

This is Reddit we're talking about.

Probably just saying Walmart cancelled their order, when in reality they're just poor and their credit card company declined it as they maxed their cards out.

I am one of "poors" you're talking about. I have plenty of money in my account and my account has no issues. Talk outside of your own ass on your own time.

My Walmart order still looks good. It's my first time preordering with them so I'm really hoping they come though.

Gonna be super pissed if they cancel my pre-orders, they pulled the funds out immediately. They've had almost $1,000 of my money for a month now.

I've read multiple accounts here in Finland that people who preordered from the German eShop (there is no hardware being sold in the Finnish one) have had the charge denied by their bank due to it being "suspicious". Using PayPal seems to be fine though. But sucks for those involved.

Fyi I would call your bank anyway to up your spending limit

Walmart charged my card this morning and sent an email indicating I should double check my address to ensure a smooth delivery.

My Best Buy order is still all good (knock on wood) and says it will ship by the 5th. Given other experiences with Best Buy pre-orders I would expect it to ship on the 4th with next-day delivery on the 5th.

When I pre-ordered I didn't get the option to pick-up in store for the system, but I did for the controller. My guess is that my local store isn't doing the midnight launch event.

As for those Wal-Mart cancellations, you have to wonder if they oversold and are just using "card issues" as an excuse to cancel orders as needed.

Target just canceled my pro controller order claiming they failed to process the funds even though I paid up front using PayPal and gift cards over a month ago…

edit: they also didn't refund the gift card as of yet nor PayPal, I'm talking to chat support but the agent is been useless, they actually told me Target failed to renew the authorization and that's why the order was canceled even though there was no credit card being charged

I already gifted my Walmart preorder for a friends birthday from a month prior.

So if they yank this, I'm going to have to give up my system from Best Buy and have no Switch 2.

Sweating bullets.

I suspect its actually being caused by shorter stock than what they expected to make up both the online store pre-orders and in-store OPD

Sounds like our store is only expecting about 6-10 for on floor sales after OPD gets their take.

Walmart charged my debit card late last night sending me an email to verify that my address is correct and that they were preparing to ship the Switch 2. Of course I woke with a potential fraud email waiting for me this morning. I immediately verified it was a legit charge so hopefully all goes well on my end. Debit is showing the $529.99 was taken off the card but its not showing the transaction receipt yet. This stuff shouldn't be this damn stressful but I guess it is what it is. I won't feel out of the water though until I get a tracking number or more confirmation it's on its way.

Did you stumble into some issues or why do you get stressed?

I get stressed from NOT buying at launch. I get hyped and feel constant FOMO and get salty and I'm worried that scalpers are going to scoop it all up so I can't get one once I decide to get one. Going in at launch is just joy and peace of mind.

I'm stoked that Walmart messaged me today to check that my address is correct. I double-checked my bank, and they charged my card too.

Do you remember all the threads from recent years where we were assured Nintendo's gonna have millions upon millions of units ready for launch day, they could never even dream of selling all of those? Good times.
