Wanda is a guy? Here I thought the creators of ICO were going to give us a strong, very cool female lead character to play as and then I read this. Wanda is a dude. I always got a sort of 'Joan of Arc' vibe off the character from trailers, so it comes with some disappointment to learn that this cool looking female lead is actually a male lead (not that I really care).

It turns out that the Japanese characters for Wanda kind of look like 'Wander,' so it's a play on words? I'm betting now that we'll see a different official title translation now, after all, Wanda and the Colossus is unofficial. As IGN suggests, maybe 'Wanderer and the Colossus?'

Turns out the name of your horse is 'Agro.' Sounds cool. There is some gameplay information within the article as well, nothing major.

SCEJ has updated the Wanda website with a VERY NICE addition - a music section. Nothing to download, but you get a montage of images with game music playing to them.

The music sounds absolutely phenomenal, very Miyazaki/Hisaishi (Nausicaa, Princess Mononoke).
Maybe someone could try to download the music being played? I have no idea how to, if it's even possible. Looks like it's Flash so maybe the movie file (images and sound) could be saved?

Wanderer and the Colossus sounds like a nice name. They really shouldn't try to pull off 'Wanda' as a name of a male lead character here.
 
Thanks for the spoilers in your subject line, asshole. Some people on this forum are avoiding all details of the game for that very reason.

Anyway, wasn't it obvious that the main character was a male? At least that's what I thought.
 
The music is very Shiro saigisu (evangelion\kare kano). which means its fucking awesome.
 
Bannage seems a bit mean, it's not really a spoiler, its a misunderstanding caused by metrosexual japanese character design.

There was a thread back when Wanda was first announced where several people on this forum stated that they wanted to avoid EVERYTHING about the game (including even screenshots) until it was released.

Something apparently as small as what he put in the subject line still isn't something someone who is avoiding all information about the game would want to know. And with it in the subject line, anyone browsing the forum can see it.

The music is quite old too (check out the last thread about the new scan). Actually, it was posted last month on the official site for a limited period.

Christ the music is amazing. If this doesn't come to the U.S. then this would definately be my first import game.

What was the original title of the thread? If it hinted towards a warning of some spoilage, then I see no harm being done by Gaia.

And even still, I'm almost certain that this tidbit was going to become knowledge in due time. It's not as if the question regarding the character's gender was a focal point of the game (at least I'm assuming).

cannot be considered a spoiler. Hell , if I wanted to avoid knowing even this kind of information I would avoid gaming forums first. It's like banning someone in a movies forum for writing something like:
"Donnie darko is a guy who etc. etc.".
What the hell? Absurd imho.
 
It was pretty damn obvious that the main characer would be a guy unless they wanted the game to have some unnecessary lesbian overtones from the very start. Naming him Wanda is something that probably won't fly well here though, no matter how much it makes sense in Japanese.
 
Um. Wanda isn't a guy, as far as I know. Which would make it an inaccurate spoiler as well. I thought Wanda was another character in the game. Which would make it a spoiler along the lines of "Dude! Zelda's a little green elf thing!"
 
I seriously cannot believe that the guy got banned over something so stupid. This "spoiler" has been sitting on the front page of IGN for a week now.

where was i reading that this bannable offence is a translation thing.

the japanese word actually means someting like wanderer. Can't remember where i read it, probably here
 
I can't see how the
gender of the main character
could be a spoiler. So is any discussion of this game in the subject line banable due to some anal retentive crybabies dictating to the rest of us? I've been avoiding MGS3 spoilers until i'm finished it, but i wouldn't care about what was mentioned about it unless it spoiled something important about the plot.

edit: yay, he's back! Anal retentives -1! :D
 
If saying that wanda is a guy is a spoilor, and it bannable, then why are these forums open.... If that's a bannable offence, how can we talk about anything?...
 
As a general rule, posting spoilers in the subject title of a thread is frowned upon - so don't do it.

Hmmmm, odd. I mean, it's not REALLY spoiler in the strictest sense. I always assumed Wanda was the name of the girl that's asleep, so it's just weird the guy's name is Wanda, so it's like the revelation is that the main character's name is Wanda, not that the main character is a
male

I'd also think it's ethically a little iffy to ban someone for spoiler violations when the tag to do spoilers isn't really clearly marked anywhere in the reply or new topic submission page (ie. it has no button or anything).
