I'm buying all the remasters left and right. At first I loved them, especially the Nightdive classic shooter games. They did fantastic job with Blood: Fresh Supply and Quake 1. IMO these remasters feel way better while playing than the originals.

But I feel like I'm getting more and more tired of remasters. Right now I'm playing through one of my favorite platform game series - Tomb Raider in its remastered version and to be honest it's not very enjoyable experience. The 'classic ps1' version looks and runs horrible, nothing like the windows versions I grew up with and the remastered version has a great number of badly ai upscaled textures that take me right out of the experience.

There are original Warcraft 1 and 2 games available on GOG If I ever feel like replaying them. I think I'm done with remasters for now.

well the good news is Blizzard doesn't have much else to remaster other then diablo 1+hellfire, unless they want to take a stab at diablo 3 or starcraft 2 again which still hold up well to this day tbh.

Now that AI boom has started, I think we're fucked with stuff like this. I remember when Starcraft was being remastered how big of a deal that was, they talked about doing it right way, hired the team specifically for that if I remember correctly. This is the cheapest possible AI job. Way too disrespectful to legendary game.

C&C remaster was done much better and who knows how would that turn out with this shitty AI approach.

It most certainly does get better....you just need a time machine.
Yeah..it comes with the battle net version to so you can play the old one if you want.

Been watching a Warcraft 2 stream and it's definitely not just an ai remaster. The sharpness is a bit jarring at first but you quickly get used to it. It really has that "what I remember the game looking like"-feel to it imo.

I loved Warcraft lore and story before WoW Cataclysm, the reason is that I lost track and getting up to date was just too much of a hassle, this would be awesome for me like 10 years ago

Warcraft 1 was my very first PC game, it got me into RTS, and it was freaking great back then. Never did I imagine it would get a remaster! I agree with people that W1 and W2 need a CRT filter, but otherwise they look pretty cool!

Not sure what all the hate is imho. These are definitely not AI jobs. There's a graphics toggle if you prefer vanilla gfx. The battle chest even includes the original games as well, so you're getting 5 games total. The audio has been touched up nicely.

Not to mention the Warcraft 3 2.0 looks superb. HD classic graphics are on point. Having the Warcraft 1 & 2 soundtrack added as an option is a nice touch too
You can even toggle the old ROC menu screen.

Agree with the above that a CRT filter would be a nice addition for 1 & 2.

Never played the first two Warcraft games. Started with 3 and it's expansion so I might get the whole package for 40 dollars. I did always wanted to get Reforged even if the campaign wasn't remastered well simply to experience the custom games again cause Warcraft 3's online custom games were amazing. I just hope there's still a lot of active players online for it.

It is true. The battle chest is discounted based on items you already own. I paid $15.

I play Warcraft on my MiSTer in the AO486 Core on my Dell 2007FPb 4:3 monitor @ 1200*1600 resolution...

Perfect integer scaling and runs like a dream.

I have zero interest in these remasters.

I am not liking the remaster of the first game. They took out the animations on the briefings and the graphics on the breifings are not as good as the original.

The remaster of the second game is great. They just kind of bumbled it up with the first game.

But as someone who had no real problem with Reforged - the improvements that they made to Reforged are really great. Fantastic amount of options, the ladder is better, it's back to the old Frozen Throne UI on B.net, etc. Loving it.

Still very active. There's a new one that is insanely popular called Direct Strike. Some big W3 streamers got really into it and it has driven a ton of traffic.
