FINALLY managed to do The War Within. Now all that's left is frame-specific quests.

Also Volt is cooking and should be ready in an hour. Can't wait to GOTTA GO FAST

So, Plains of Eidolon content is just unplayable for me. Game freezes every five seconds because the game has to stop and pull something else from the hard drive. Fuck me for not shelling out for an SSD, I guess.

That sounds like more of a RAM issue than a lack of SSD issue.
 
Hmm, turns out fishing is way better for ranking up Cetus than bounties. 15 minutes of fishing got me this:

Definitely better than the 30+ minute bounty that gave me 1600 rep and 5k credits...
BTW, if you're fishing at night, the other type of basic fish (which are worth next to nothing rep-wise) don't spawn, so you get way more bang for your buck.

Yeah, I really don't understand why they put Cetus on the chart for newer players. You should probably just ignore it for a while, and keep at that star chart!
 
Hey everyone, wondering if I can get an invite to the PC GAF clan/dojo. I'm only able to hop on probably 3 or 4 times a week if I'm lucky so not sure if that isn't enough.

I haven't played her but impressions I've seen are "she's fine."

Her spear and mirror thing stops being effective at 50, but the damage reduction from her shards has, I believe, a 90% cap which is great, and her glass wave is good CC and defense.

I have the same problem and i have the game installed on a SSD, i suspect it is a Ram issue like the other poster said because i have only 4gb Ram.
 
The more I look at the new loot and mechanics, the more I realize the rewards just aren't worth it for me.

- Mining and fishing are never fun for me. That's why I have extractors to gather a lot of my resources. At least fishing is less involved than other games so I can multitask while doing it (aside from randomly getting discovered and shot at by grineer)

- Bounties are a nice challenge but the reward pool sucks and the mission variety gets old fast. All I care about is the Furax Wraith and Gara parts. I've done about 6 T5 bounties in the last 2 days. 5 of them gave me Ayatan Cyan Star x2.

- Set bonus mods are a huge meh for me, except for maybe Auger Pact (+90% pistol damage)

- Zaw weapons don't look appealing to me at all, and the standing and rules on building one are overkill. Kinda bummed that the Exodia arcanes are just for zaw.

- Focus before: I used it solely for energy overflow. Focus now: I use it solely for energizing dash (and a few way-bound passives)

- Gear for operator might be nice to have, but for now I just use it to void dash for energizing dash and switch back to my warframe

- New stances. I got Carving Mantis (dual sword) and Twirling Spire (polearm). Both get a new quick melee that's looks more horizontal but Twirling Spire's looks a lot worse (does a really slow stab, then a horizontal slash). Carving Mantis seems to do a bit more damage than swirling tiger and end in lot of knockdowns. Don't really use dual swords at all to bother testing further. Twirling Spire has a bunch of combos that alternate between stabs and wide sweeping slash attacks. Two of its combos end in a slam attack, including the main combo which is just 3 hit. Stick with shimmering blight/bleeding willow.

- Astilla. Probably my favorite thing in the update. Replaced Arca Plasmor as my favorite shotgun.
 
I agree with the Astilla being the best thing. The solid thump of rounds firing and the exploding shells are magnificent. Recommend a fire rate mod or arcane tempo to go with it.

Since it's not a pellet type shotgun, the status chance being at 100% is less critical. Reload or Magazine mods help even out the damage per time. Chilling reload is good for this sort of thing.
 
Yea the Astilla is great, when I built it and first used it I was like "meh, MR fodder", hit rank 30 and was like OMG this gun!!

I go through ammo like water lol
 
Is it just me, or is this update really shitty about explaining itself in-game?

What is this place? Who are these people? Why the hell should I care? What the hell are the Quills? Where the hell are they and why can't I do anything with my focus points until I find them?

Do I need to go to the wiki just to learn how to fucking progress?

There's a squad of grineer nearby, but they don't respawn once you kill them unless you leave the area, so there's nothing bothering you while you fish.

I personally don't use bait, it feels like a huge waste of resources (especially because the blueprints are once-use only), just listen for the splashes/bubbles and you'll find the fish easily enough.

The game in general doesn't do a great job, although I think some of the questions you asked about motive and stuff are explained in the game, just maybe not explicitly through some narrative or something. Have you done the Gara quest yet? That basically introduces you to some of the people in Cetus.

You can figure out who the Quills are yourself :)

You need to re-assign your focus points and unlock a tree. You actually don't need to do anything related to the Quills in order to spend your focus points. Just assign them like you'd normally do.

It looks like nighttime, so I don't know if location matters. I was fishing during the night and got exclusively lungfish (except when I used bait), so I don't think the basic type of fish spawns then.

I also noticed that Lungfish are worth way more rep than the other types of fish I've seen. The medium size of the normal fish and the first two types of bait fish were worth 35 rep, while the medium lungfish was worth 125 rep. Seems like DE made Lungfish the treasure fish (sell these for rep) and the others materials fish (they all have exclusive parts from what I've seen).

Depends on when you last played. If that was 2 years ago then yeah.

Plains of Eidolon (the all-new open world area) is new and therefore prettier :p. Aside from that, the Earth biome was revamped a while ago.

Mine leveled doing an alert, I think it's tied to focus gain (no proof) but it leveled extremely quickly.

I did like the dialogue during the new quest too.

Hmmm went on a mission and it didn't rank up but i just realized i wasn't getting any focus then remembered that DE removed the lens from my stuff due to the rework.

So that focus gain thing might not be as farfetched.

Is madurai still ok or not

After the inevitable Shield Disruption Aura nerf, madurai is going to be good for doing damage to the teralyst's shield I imagine.
 
Got a Arca Plasmor Riven from the Gara quest since I purchased her outright when PoE released.

+ Multishot
- Recoil
- Status Duration

Seems pretty good. If people are actually willing to pay some of the prices I've seen for Plasmor Rivens, it could have easily paid off the Gara purchase and more.

Beat that ugly robot! Had one guy glitched halfway through and get unlimited health but could not use operator or frame powers so he was dead weight basically. Not bad for a 3man. Only took like 25 mins so not too bad. Now time to put that boy on farm.

Just downloaded this and played a bit through the tutorial today.

As a mostly console player, the keyboard controls feel a little weird. Wondering if I should pop in a controller and just keep playing it that way. Is the game pretty controller friendly? Are there enough buttons for everything?
