Warner Bros. Games has officially acquired Player First Games, adding the developer behind MultiVersus to its profile.

In an official release sent to IGN, Warner Bros. confirmed that co-founder Tony Huynh and Chris White will retain leadership of the studio, which has led development of the popular Smash Bros-like brawler. Multiversus officially launched in May following early access and open beta releases throughout 2022 and 2023.

I hope this means a better budget for Multiversus. Seems like the relaunch has been successful enough, but the game feels like it is held together by toothpicks.

Good for the team for getting a payday, I hope it works out for them

No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
They seem to be back into gaming post-Hogwarts Legacy.
Maybe we can get a 3D Scribblenauts game at some point. There's a game that would genuinely benefit from AI-aided development.

Honestly, for as amateur PFG still feels this is a great get for them, it also felt like it was only a matter of time. As long as they stay on-top of things. Multiversus still has a lot of potential IMO, but it's so odd to see so many bugs and issues just completely overlooked by a studio connected to such a "big" one.

WB just wants to turn it into a live service, microtransactions nightmare and own all the profits, regardless of actual game quality/development...basically like they want with all of their games

As someone who loves Multiversus, it is already a live service nightmare. The new season that starts today is actually toning it down quite a bit and moving in the right direction though
