Warner Bros. Weighing Fate of ‘The Flash’ as Its Ezra Miller Problem Grows

A source with knowledge of the situation says the studio appears to be preparing for three possible scenarios.

First, Warners has received indications that the 29-year-old Miller, whose mother has accompanied the actor in recent days, will seek professional help after returning home to their farm in Vermont after being away. If that help happens, Miller, who goes by they/them pronouns, could give an interview at some point explaining their erratic behavior over the past few years. The actor could then do limited press for The Flash, and the movie would open in cinemas as planned.
The second scenario: Even if Miller doesn’t reach out for help, Warners could still release the film. But don’t expect Miller to play a prominent role in terms of marketing and publicity. Nor would Miller be The Flash going forward, as the role would be recast in future projects.
The third case: Things go from bad to worse, with the situation with Miller deteriorating. This would see Warners killing the movie outright, as it could not be reshot with a different actor. Miller plays multiple characters and is in almost every scene. Scrapping a $200 million film would be an unprecedented move.

The Flash is a key film for Warners, as it is expected to chart a new course for the DC Extended Universe. The film has been testing well, even as Miller’s legal woes continue to mount.

If they release this, the backlash over it and what it means for Cavill as Superman will be epic.

Three different threads about the problem over the last several months and in all this time Warner Bros still hasn't budged. Hopefully one of the next few threads on the issue will have some new developments to share.

Option #4: Add an extra scene where Miller runs so fast that his crazy thoughts split from his body and turn into The Joker, casting Ezra Miller as one of the main villains in the upcoming reboot. The remaining good/sane/pure elements of Flash are left as a separate entity, played by Elliot Page.

Funny how I know way more about Miller's delusional and criminal behaviors than I do about the actual movie itself, great marketing so far WB.

Is the plot of the movie basically Flashpoint?

Fuck the movie, just get Erza some help before this goes tragic for them or some other innocent person. If you put people first, sometimes the business part takes care of itself.

Now if Ezra is opposed to help then it is what it is. HBOmax that shit and...

Basically, but worse.

Barry tries to travel back in time to stop his mom, but when he's in the speed force someone knocks him out of it.

He lands in the Keaton universe. Gotham is the safest city on the planet due to Batman.

Zod shows up with his invasion, but there's no Justice League. Batman won't help. The Barry of this universe has no powers.

Flash searches for Superman, can't find him. Barry remembers there's a crashed Kryptonian ship. They go there, but Kal-El isn't there, Supergirl is. Zod killed Cavill's Superman when he was still a baby and he never made it to Earth.

Eventually they convince Batman to help, and it's basically Barry, Batman, and Supergirl vs Zod's army. They keep dying and Barry keeps resetting it.

The person who knocked Barry out of the speedforce turns out to be evil Barry from the future who was trying to stop Barry from fucking up the timeline by preventing his mom from dying. They fight, "good" Barry wins. When he returns from the speedforce the timeline is changed. Superman never existed because Zod killed him when he was a baby, Keaton is now Batman.

If they had just released it months ago. wtf are they waiting for? more controversies from him? The movie must be complete for a year at this point...i don't get it.
The PR would be even worse if they release the film, do the whole song and dance for the advertising and interviews, and then things get even worse for Miller.

Scrapping it before it is ever released is way easier to do PR wise than having to pull a movie from theaters.

As far as plots go, this isn't the worst I've seen. It feels like something that should be a straight to DVD/blu ray animated DC movie, but it isn't extremely horrible.

DC making me want to watch one of their movies again out of meta curiosity.

Don't really care if Flash releases or not.

Daliland is way more important to me to reach release.

Miller was originally signed on to play one of the versions of Dali in the film, joining Ben Kinglsey, who plays the older version of the artist. So, maybe Miller was cut out of the film due to his recent run-ins with the law and general strange behavior? Not at all, as THR confirmed the actor does indeed still appear in the film as the title character. Miller’s just not in the cast credits that were shared with the media today.

The pronoun crowd, ladies and gentlemen.
It's like when a priest molests a child making all Christians pedophiles?

The Christian crowd, everyone!

That's smrt, right?

That's pretty much what I've read as well, but a few extras (which may or may not be accurate ) include:

There's an action sequence at the top featuring Gadot and Affleck.

The Barry of the Keaton universe also thinks Affleck is Batman and not Keaton, so is it the Keaton universe, or some sort of mash up of the both caused by Barry?

'Our' Barry is meant to lose his powers to the other Barry, but then gets them back again somehow.

The whole plot hinges of a tin can of tomatoes(not joking).

In a post credits sequence, Affleck apparently somehow gets in touch with Barry to say he's stuck in an alternate dimension, even though Keaton is now the DCEU Batman.

Utterly stupid shit from start to finish.

I've heard this too and I'm very inclined to believe it. Just what the fuck were they thinking? It all sounds so terrible, and the idea of killing off Superman sounds insane. Batman is the most popular sure, but Superman is the poster child for DC Comics. Are they outta their fucking minds?

It’s something to do with him
stopping his mother from buying a can of tomatoes, which means she doesn’t get home in time to get murdered. But that fucks the timeline up, so the whole plot at the climax involves him putting the can of tomatoes back, so she can buy it and die.

Makes ‘Martha’ sound like fucking Shakespeare.

It’d be considered mental illness in both cases but unlike the other, not all priests are mentally ill.
Mistakenly considered by some in the former, but many, many more reputable, educated, reliable sources say otherwise regarding priests and Christians.

The dude is most likely never getting major acting work again, but his nonsense shouldn't stop a finished movie from getting released. He is one among a crew of probably hundreds.

I’m happy I live in the era when mentioning one’s pronouns is more important than their history of violent behaviour towards others.
People focus on what's important to them. Fortunately, outside those activists making it about their issue, the news, those in film, and most people are more concerned about the latter.

ResurrectedContrarian

Suffers with mild autism
This is the first time I've heard his name, but what the hell... WB has some kind of "they/them" psycho playing one of their core characters, and they didn't immediatley do the sane thing & fire/reshoot when he went off the reservation with that nonsense? What is wrong with these corporations.

It would probably be cheaper to scrap the whole movie and remake it with someone else.

Yep. He’s in the film a lot. Like, and awful lot. Repeatedly. They really couldn’t have had a worse situation on their hands with the star of a tent pole flick 😂

Ok, who the fuck cares?

Separate the art from the artist. An opera isn't better or worse because the actor in it is a good/bad person.
And if we hate cancel culture we should hate it *always*.

Naw sorry that doesnt always work. Conservatives would not see a movie starring Hillary. Liberals would not see a movie starring (not cameoing) Trump. At a certain point thats thrown out the window. Ezra has passed that point.
