The translation on the sub is fucking HORRIBLE!!! I don't speak Japanese at all, but damn, This has got to be one of the worst translations I've come across. When the first few lines was nothing like what I saw at the theater, I knew this was gonna be bad, but having sat through half of it so far, it's really painful to read.

Those who haven't seen the movie at the theater and is relying sorely on this fansub is gonna be really confused. You may get the gist of the main storyline, but you'll have alot of "Huh?" and "WTF?" moments for sure.

I'm so gald that I caught this movie at the theaters with the proper official translations. Total luck too since the day I flew back in town was the last day it was gonna be at the theaters.

BTW, the movie fucking rocks. I really want the offical DVD now since this fansub turned out to totally blow in the translation department. Real pity since the encoding is so damn good.

True, but the translations add to that in the most ordinary places. If you go by their trans, you'll be like "Why the fuck is he talking about that out of the blue?" or "What's that got to do with anything?" or "Who the fuck talks like that?" ALOT.

With the official trans, I didn't have tough time following the movie at all.

Since the movie is not supposed to be release here (europe) for a while i download it without knowing it was hard-subbed (THE SUCK). Then I watch it and without even watching the official sub, i knew the sub were gonna suck hard. ( 1 line for a dialogue that seem to be way longer, 3/4 lines of sub (at once) disseapearing way too quickly, ....)

Very shitty sub.

Mouse over the file in explorer and see if it says who translated it.

As for how good it is, if it doesn't sound like Borat talking english, it's better than the haWKs.*

The Hawks are a pretty awful group outside of manga. In fact, there's only about 5 good fansub groups, and they're the ones who've been doing it for 3+ years, not these upstarts from the past year or two.

I went to the theaters and got a good sub and a great movie. Tootles.

BTW, I'm going through the haWKs version again, and it's worse than I first thought. They are just JACKING UP the story! In the beginning, instead of having Batou and Togusa visiting the local police station and it's crime lab, the sub has them visiting the place as the factory where the gynoid was designed and made! WTF?!? That's a HUGE mistranslation. It's like mistaking a truck for a sports car!

Shit, when is the official US DVD coming out? I can't stand to watch this sub anymore.
