So I picked up a Gamecube (Mario Kart bundle) yesteryday, the local Fred Meyer had them ridiculously cheap at $50, so I couldn't pass it up. Before last night, I had never ever played a Gamecube, heck, I hadn't even held the controller in my hands.
So far I've picked up (all used for $20 or less, aside from the full priced RE4 and the bundled MKDD):
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles
Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Super Smash Bros.
Resident Evil 4
Metroid Prime
Mario Kart Double Dash
I'm extremely impressed with Resident Evil 4 so far, it's an absolutely incredible game, even with the PS2 port on the way, I can't see why anyone would want to wait until the fall or whenever it's getting released.
Any recommendations for other games? At the moment I'm thinking about picking up:
Super Mario Sunshine
Resident Evil 0
Resident Evil 1
Star Wars: Rogue Leader

The removal of the time limit in the second one pretty much killed any challenge to the game, and the fact that you spend the majority of your playing time in tedious random dungeons instead of the beautiful overworld areas really makes the game feel more like a chore than the first one. I've been close to the end of the game for like six months now, and it looks like all I've got left to do is three different caves, but I just can't bring myself to sit down and trudge through all that stuff.

But I can usually play for about 15 minutes before I get fed up with just randomly getting tossed off the track for no apparent reason. It's not a rare occurance to fall through walls that you should just bounce off of, or spontaneously go flying up and off the middle of the track for no apparent reason, or get bumped into by one of the AIs, and sent flying up and over the wall. It's not a rare occurance, either. I usually end up having to restart a cup something like five or six times before I finally luck out and manage to keep the random insta-deaths to a minimum and beat the cup.

And an actual decent multiplayer component to boot. And an awesomely addictive challenge mode. And a decently long single player quest. And fantastic visuals. And more intense focus. Everything about it was better. Everything.
Pikmin 1? Mediocre.
Pikmin 2? GOTY 2004.
