Alright, I'm graduating from college in a year and I want to put up webpage where people can access my portfolio, resume, etc. I might make the extra effort and put up other content too like pictures and maybe some blog type stuff who knows there's plenty of possibilities for shenanigans. Still that's only if school and work and life don't keep me too busy. I was looking at Yahoo domains and you can't beat $3 a year and I was looking at Network Solutions for hosting. Still I'm a complete noob when it comes to this stuff so I was hoping for some suggestions and for people to steer me in the right direction. I'm especially apprehensive about registering with all my WHOIS info being so public like my email, address, and phone number, is that even a legitamate concern or am I just being paranoid? Let me know fellas cause the way I procrastinate I better get the ball rolling now if I wanna be done by graduation. :)

Eh, I wouldn't trust Yahoo and Network Solutions. They're high-volume, customer service may not be that great.

Try Godaddy for domains - $9 per year. They have hosting, which is high-volume, but I've heard it's decent.

I don't like large/cheap/free hosts for the most part. Most of them will skimp on customer service or not keep up their server maintenance, which introduces difficulties in operation and getting problems resolved. Check out this board for hosting deals: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=4

I can offer hosting too via my own server, but I will probably charge more than what most of these guys are offering. However, you will get a stable server that isn't overloaded with too many clients and good customer support. PM me if interested.
