So i started working on a webpage for my world of warcraft guild, and decided to implement eqdkp, a database type deal to manage raid attendance, points and such.
http://eqdkp.com/

Now, the only experience i have with webpages are designing them, and building very small simple pages. So i built the front page and everything and that worked fine. i'd type in my domain name and it would go to the default index page. And I linked some a forum and all that, and that worked.

The problem is, ever since i installed the php database, typing in the domain name doenst go straight to index.htm, but straight to viewnews.php part of the php program/database. How do i change it back? Through the php admin part/ or my domain host phpadmin? or what? I have no idea if this is even enough info to help, but I thought I'd try.

It sounds like index.php files have priority with the webserver over index.htm. What happens if you rename it to index.html?

Make sure index.html is in this setting.

DirectoryIndex index.php index.php4 index.php3 index.cgi index.pl index.html.var index.phtml

Or you can be lazy and make an index.php with nothing more than an include for the index.html

<?php

include ("index.html")

?>
