Weekend Work-Age

So I'm at work. It's Saturday :

I already worked 50-60 hours this week.

I'm sure it's not just me. Who else is having a busy kickoff to 2013? Normally this isn't something we need to do where I work, but it can't be avoided currently. Too. Damn. Busy.

Who else?

Not me, but my wife is working an extra 8 hours tonight after her original 12 hour shift today. Dat 8 hours of incentive pay....good lawd!!

I work every other weekend on my shift. Its not too bad once you get used to it.
Friday becomes just another day of the week (and for me monday is a good day)

I'm with ya buddy.
They took my training wheels off at work, so I'm on my lonesome at our IT desk now on weekends...of course, today is the day everyone decided to have Citrix connectivity issues. Not a great start.

Be thankful that working on weekends is an "unusual" situation for you.

Us public service folks have to work weekends all the time. I only get 1 full weekend off per month.

I work 6 days straight, then get 3 days off all the time.

Just got home from work! 9pm-6pm today then 12-6 tomorrow. But my department requires one to two weekend shifts a month with days off during the week as compensation.

So I had Friday off and I'll get next Friday off too, which results in a 3-day weekend next week.

Working this weekend as well. The shifts are much shorter than they are on a week day though so it isn't really tiring. I need all the hours I can get since I can't work as much this semester.

I feel bad for you guys/gals that have to do it normally.

I guess it's understandable if you're working a schedule that's not your traditional mon-fri 8a-5p schedule. Still hate getting those weekend shifts.

Also our IT department has that "on call" setup where some of them need to be available as well if there is an issue with products on jobs (sales, applications, payments, etc.)

Sucks.
