Hey guys, this is probably a stupid question but thought I should ask here, but I just installed Chrome yesterday after using Firefox for so long, and I'm seeing banners for vouchers on certain websites

example:

I'm getting nothing detected through Antivir or malwarebytes though, and I'm seeing it nowhere but Chrome.

Is this a feature on Chrome (if so how do i get it off), or should I be more worried?

It's not stock I can tell you that. Check your extensions/apps installed. The 3 dots on the right menu will lead you there.

I've only got 1password, adblock and avira browser extensions installed, apart from that there are 4 stock google ones.

EDIT: It seems to have disappeared now after I disabled avira, the fuck?? So the browser plug in for my anti virus caused this? That's some BS.

This is what I think. You should uninstall and reinstall directly from Google or ninite.com.

You definitely won't find a consensus on recommendations.

Bitdefender free/paid is alright. On Win10, I just use the built-in Windows Defender and the free version of Malwarebytes. The latter picks up anything questionable with browser extensions (you'll have to do a manual scan).

The fuck? Don't have anything like that with my Avira. Or maybe it's because Vivaldi is my Chromium browser and this targets only Google Chrome?

If i ever have to scan my computer i just download and run malwarebytes. But i don't use a antivirus. They are too sketchy.

On my browser is use uBlock and Ghostery.

I can't actually remember if it asked but I don't think it did. It might now.

It's actually supported by Chrome and it looks like they changed it after v33 so the extension had to come from the store which gives it some accountability but still, gross.
