Weird coupon toolbar appears in new install of Chrome (virus?)

Hey guys, this is probably a stupid question but thought I should ask here, but I just installed Chrome yesterday after using Firefox for so long, and I'm seeing banners for vouchers on certain websites

example:

I'm getting nothing detected through Antivir or malwarebytes though, and I'm seeing it nowhere but Chrome.

Is this a feature on Chrome (if so how do i get it off), or should I be more worried?

I've only got 1password, adblock and avira browser extensions installed, apart from that there are 4 stock google ones.

Are you sure that's part of the browser toolbar and not the website itself?

nah it's appeared on 3 different sites

Did you download chrome directly from google? People often download loaded browsers in the ads of google search results.

Yeah i got it straight from google

EDIT: It seems to have disappeared now after I disabled avira, the fuck?? So the browser plug in for my anti virus caused this? That's some BS.

some software on your computer will attempt to load shitty chrome extensions. Adobe did this recently with Acrobat.

yeah it seems to be the avira plugin going by the images from the site

Would've been nice if they told me what it was, instead I've shit myself thinking that I had gotten malware.
Anyway crisis averted! so thanks people :P

What are "stock Google ones" in the extensions? Because when I load up my extensions menu there is nothing there outside the 3 I installed myself.

Google Docs, Docs Offline, Sheets, Slides

Damn Avira went downhill big time over the past couple of years hasn't it?

Used to be a solid AV now it's installing adware? Talk about jumping the shark

Ew.

So I guess this is as good a place to ask as any, what antivirus should I use?
I always felt avira was a good one? :/
You definitely won't find a consensus on recommendations.

Bitdefender free/paid is alright. On Win10, I just use the built-in Windows Defender and the free version of Malwarebytes. The latter picks up anything questionable with browser extensions (you'll have to do a manual scan).

The fuck? Don't have anything like that with my Avira. Or maybe it's because Vivaldi is my Chromium browser and this targets only Google Chrome?

Ew.
