White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Thursday that the President is "committed to making sure" he'll get funding to back his campaign promise of a border wall and that the administration has not "abandoned" plans to make Mexico pay for it.

"We know that the wall and other security measures at the border work. We've seen that take place over the last decade and we're committed to making sure the American people are protected and we're going to continue to push forward and make sure that the wall gets built," she added.

When asked a second time, she said that the White House wants to "push forward" with the wall.

In a later question about his promise to get Mexico to pay for the wall, she added that efforts to have our southern neighbor fund the border wall have not been "abandoned."

What moron actually thinks Mexico will pay for it? Especially when Trump is threatening a government shut down so he can get tax payer dollars to fund it.

Is that the great negotiating tactics we've all heard about? Is this what 4D chess looks like? Is this what winning is?
1. Claim you will get a wall, and Mexico will pay for it. Doesn't work:
- Mexico's former president says 'we aren't paying for that fucking wall'
-Mexico's current president says they aren't paying for it.
2. Claim the wall just got 10 ft bigger. Try and act bold and aggressive. The same people just reiterate it isn't happening. Doesn't work.
3. In a private call with the president basically beg him to make you look good in the media. Doesn't work.
4. Say you will tax the Mexican imports to pay for the wall, and that you will just use American tax dollars to fund it. Don't get the money and no additional tariffs proposed, because it will just raise the cost of American goods. Doesn't work.
5. Throw a tantrum and threaten dems and republicans that you will shut down the government unless you get what you want. ????? winning?

The master negotiator can't get shit, and the best tactic he has come up with is the same thing a kid does when he doesn't want to go somewhere with a parent. Just whine, cry, kick, scream, and go limp so you need to be dragged out by the arm. Let's drag this kid out.

They'd need to bankrupt Mexico if they were to force to pay for the $10 billion wall. And everyone knows nothing helps to curb illegal immigration from your neighboring country like a bankrupt economy from said neighbor, right?

I still don't know how he expects a foreign state to pay for one of a domestic infrastructure project. Not to mention one of the many reasons Mexico is so high-crime is because of American demand for Mexican drugs.
