Valley Of Death is pretty good. Easily their best, IMO.

Castaways and Cutouts is really fucking good. Honestly, this is the first time I've listened to it to completion. How does Her Majesty compare?

Picking a favorite from the two records is difficult. I listen to Her Majesty more, so I guess that's my favorite, but by saying that I feel like I'm slighting Castaways and Cutouts. Actually, these days I probably listen to The Tain more than either.

For what it's worth, it's well worth having both Castways & Cutouts and Her Majesty. I think that HM is a bit better, overall, because there really aren't any bad tracks. But my favorite Decemberists songs are on C&C ("A Cautionary Song" like woah).

My favorite Decemberists song would probably be Sunshine from the new Billy Liar single. I don't think many people would agree with me on that, though.

I'd say The Tain is my favorite Decemberists song, but uh, that's sort of a cop-out. I wasn't too wild about the new songs, but I've only listened a couple times, and most of their stuff takes many listens for me to get into it. If I had to order my, like, 5 favorite...

2) The Legionnaire's Lament
3) Leslie Anne Levine
4) The Chimbley Sweep
5) Los Angeles, I'm Yours

But if you wanna cut it to brass tacks, I pretty much like all of their songs (I'm not so big on "I Was Meant for the Stage" or "California One/Youth & Beauty Brigade), and I totally want Colin Miloy to impregnate me.

Tegan & Sara - So Jealous
Got it via iTunes tonight and it is pretty damn good, but I have a soft spot for Tegan & Sara. I love girls rocking out! If you like Metric you will probably dig this album.

Cake - Pressure Chief
It is Cake, so I've got to like it. Well it is growing on me. This is really heavy synth, almost as if John McCrea recorded the entire thing himself.
