Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
I have some neighbors who are also friends and friends of the family and they are Eastern European, specifically Romania and Serbia.

I'm of Ukrainian descent so I should probably know what this is but I don't.

The wife makes these great soft breads. It's sort of like a pita but a lot softer. It is all bread. There is no filling in the middle.

I don't know what it's called but it's absolutely delicious.

It's called langos. It;s unhealthy as fuck as it;'s basically dough cooked in a lot of oil, but yeah it's tasty. It's hungarian by origin.

Yeah she's from Romania. I actually gave her a call after your response and asked her and she said yes, in Hungary it's called langosh or langos.

Hey, thanks for the heads up.

Are you from Eastern Europe?

Made some of those for dinner:

Mine doesn't look as good but they taste nice nonetheless.

Absolutely balling here. Had two tiny ground beef pepper steaks at gone midnight because they're probably about to go off, slither of the cheapest most rubbery cheddar on top that I really like for some reason, two fig rolls and a glass of milk.

Every year here in Germany I have those in Christmas Markets.

Maybe I am decreasing my life expectation by a few weeks doing so, but totally worth it! 😅

I've been cooking a lot of lentils and beans lately, incredibly cheap and filling. I thought garam masala was too strong for me, but then I learned that you just sprinkle it on the food instead of having it as the main spice in the pot.

My next step will be to learn how to bake naan bread.

It's Friday, takeaway is the order of the day, hesitating between.

  • Chinese (something with deep-fried chicken
  • Japanese (curry or sushi)
  • Indian (some spicy curry

I'm thinking something utterly unhealthy like General Tso's chicken.....

What about you?

I haven't had a Chinese takeaway in well over a year. Argh. Tempting!

Went to a 4 course BBQ dinner last night with a one night limited time menu, paired with beer from a large local brewery. The chef and brewmaster introduced each of the four courses to the room with explanations of the dish and how they were paired together. It was pretty good. Best burnt ends I've ever had, and the rib was some black magic. Was so tender you barely even had to chew it. Shit practically evaporated.

Brisket stuffed jalapeno (IPA)
Pork burnt ends with mustard BBQ on cauliflower puree (Pale Ale)
Leek wrapped short rib on cheese grits (Saison)
Banana pie with pretzel crust and caramel drizzle (Stout)

Sounds awesome apart from the grits.
