What are you playing? (2/26/04)

Hows the music? Mitsuda is doing it right? Or at least collaborating from what I remember?

Music ranges from ok -> good. But you don't pay much attention to it while shooting hundreds of people. Sounds like a good ost to listen to in your car when the ost comes out.

I'm now currently playing:

...Anyways! I'm hoping to finish it up in time for digital devil saga.

Tempted to try playing this concurrently...

DONT IGNORE ME! MY POWERS! DRAINING! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 11/01 Xbox is on it's last legs so playing games on that has been a bitch. MVP 2005 has been going along fine, but anything with seemingly frequent disc access is locking up. I was getting into that Indiana Jones game before it froze up. I don't know if I can wait for E3 to hear if the "Xbox 2" will have backwards compatibility. If anyone knows where to get a Thompson DVD drive cheaper than the $60 I've seen it for, I'd appreciate the tip.

Played Devil May Cry for a while and came to the same opinion I had 3 years ago. Decent game hampered by a terrible camera system and some cringe worthy cornball moments in the story. Just like I've always thought about Resident Evil - s'good, could've been a lot better.

Shadow Hearts. (Fun, but tedious in parts. It feels like it's on the short side for an RPG, which is good because I want to get to Shadow Hearts: Covenant, which supposedly fixes SH's problems.)

This year's hurt the wallet. Luckily, I don't have kids to feed. Tekken 5, Project Snowblind (which is a lot better than expected), GT4, KoF 2002/03, Shadow of Rome, and the game I thought I'd never play, Return to Arms.. not to mention both baseball games. I'm getting nowhere with any of them. I can't even pick between the damn baseball games. One minute, I'm liking 2K5 more, and then I hit a walk off homer off Schilling with Assrod and I like MVP more. Not to mention MVP's simple yet crack like mini games.

Having not really played any of the Snowblind engine games up to this point made RTA that much better a game. I never would have bought the game if it weren't for the fact that I stupidly bought Death by Degrees. Had the good sense to bring it right back, but the guy at EB insited that I take RtA for it. I can tell though that if I had played the previous, as well as the two BG's, this would probably be a stupid repetitive Diablo-wannabe-lite clone. I may try Bard's Tale next just for nostalgia's sake, but I have to damn much to play. I just finished my first run through RtA and am mid second. Throwing flaming axes at the same creatures over and over again is a lot more fun than I ever imagined it would be.

I've also gone through RE4 3 times at this point. It has been a great year.

I don't know where I'm going to fit God of War.. or Mrs. Speshylives for that matter, in my schedule.

:)

I just finished Resident Evil 4, so I'm just playing the minigames now.

I started MGS3 again.
I put off Minish Cap for a while, while I finish Super Mario Bros 3 and Astro Boy (which is really good).

just MGS3 and now coming back to Tales of Symphonia. Waiting for RE4 et Daigassou Band Bros. Baten Kaitos and GT4 are still waiting...

So many games I am playing right now its just silly..

GCN
RE4
Metroid Prime

XBOX
Strangers Wrath
Mercenaries
NBA Ballers
Timesplitters 2

World Of Warcraft....oh wait Azglaore has been suddenly plagues with a server queue, massive lag and crashing....so I'm not playing that cause I can't

so I tired SF:AC on XBlag....I like the new effect of a freeze frame when ever ken does a dragon punch or ryu thorws a fireball...the playing in jello feel is a great touch too...and it was delayed to optimize XBL cause?

So I cracked open Brunout 3....mucho fun.

Am I the first person to realize that over half the games that you have been playing will not come out for a long ass time after the date of this thread?

GC all the way baby.

Capcom vs. SNK 2EO
Resident Evil 0
Paper Mario: TTYD
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Donkey Konga

oh yeah, and NBA Street Vol. 1 for ps2.
Catchin up on all the older games. CvSNK is awesome to play with a friend.

Yeah this looks good, I'll probably get the PC version. How is online play? Any lag issues?

Played a game online today, no lag issues.

I'm nearing the end in single-player and -- I shit you not -- this is the best WWII game I've ever played. Why? It evokes the sort of intensity from the best combat sequences in Saving Private Ryan (dirt, grit, dust and all) or the super-scripted but immersive as hell instances of MoH and CoD, without resorting to woodenly scripted A.I. and events. Everything on the battlefield happens dynamically in real-time. So when your hands are shaking and you're hunkered down behind cover with rounds whizzing over your head, trying to think of a way to out flank that MG-42 typewriter of death, you know the chaos is real, and that you could get splayed any second.

It's just one hard ass firefight after the next. And I love the iron sight view for the guns here. When you pull the trigger, you almost feel the gun kick into your shoulder as you recoil and readjust for your next shot. In other words, it's just like firing a real gun. Best of all, there isn't any bullshit paper and dice rules about "enemies under cover will never die" because if you're a good shot with these M1 rifles, you can take them out. But it's hard, hence, you're better off using actual field tactics.

This game is about 500x better than Full Spectrum Warrior. If you love gritty military shooters, GET READY TO COUGH IT UP for BIA.

So as an update, this is what I'm currently playing:

Tekken 5
243666x.jpg

Played a 4 hour multiplayer session with a friend today. Now just trying to unlock all the characters and costumes and customize my top tier characters for next session.

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
245627.jpg

So far I'm about 5-6 hours into the game. Enjoying it quite a bit.

Star Ocean 3: Till the End of Time
224401.jpg

Just trying to finish this game. I dislike playing it right now, but I'm only a couple hours from the end. Everything after the "twist" I've hated.
